This is just a question. Congratulations to Wilder. There is no question that he hits hard, and his fans can now say that he has demonstrated chin and stamina. But I am curious what people think of his power now. A lot of us thought that his power was badly overrated, since he fought only crash test dummies and a professional diver (coming off a controversial stoppage against Chisora). Now he failed over twelve rounds to knock out Stivern. Stiverne has an excellent chin, but when his obesity problem kicks in, he can be stopped, as evidenced by Demetrice King. So how powerful is Deontay, really? Is he as powerful as, say, cruiserweight contender Dmitir Kudryashov, who recently knocked out Juan Carlos Gomez with a glancing blow in the first round? Gomez isn't what he once was, but he is one of the best cruiserweight champions ever, and a legit heavyweight contender who went 9 round with Vitali Klitschko. He was also on a 6 fight winning streak, and should have been a stern test. He didn't last a round. What is more Kudryashov, who has 16 knockouts in 16 fights, displays this sickening power regularly, and similarly stopped sometimes-heavyweight and Mchunu conqueror Zack Mwakessa in 1. So what do we think? Which one of these guys hits the harder?
Wilder actually impressed me with his chin last night, but I admit that I also think Kudryashov would KO him handily.
