As others stated, there are a number of achievements from past eras which beat many of those on the poll quite comfortably.

On the poll itself, I'd probably lean towards Pacquaio.

I forgot to put Ray Robinson into the list above. Sorry. Robinson has been recognized by many boxing experts as the Best Middleweight Fighter of All Time.

    Nice thread and list.

Looking at it, I actually am a bit stuck.... cant really choose between a lot of them, to be honest. Each one is very, very impressive. I honestly dont know.

I would say that, for me at least, the weak link there is JC. I would automatically take him off the list.... not saying what he did isnt impressive in its own right, but it doesnt compare to the others, imo.

I am glad the accomplishments are more modern day. To be honest I grow a bit tired always seeing the discussion going back to pre 70's boxing. The sport was so different back then its kinda apples n oranges and I like putting modern accomplishments into a more fitting comparison discussion.

By all means, let's all pretend we were born yesterday.

You're not even factoring in that Floyd was on PEDs for his his entire welterweight run (low T/E ratios, illegal IV usage).

I agree with all who mentioned Benitez, Armstrong, and Tyson. Those 3 feats will NEVER happen again, especially with the way the sport currently conducts itself.

As an aside, in the mid 80’s, I remember seeing JCC’s record listed at 49-1 in one of the many boxing magazines that used to be around. I believe the loss was by DQ, early in his career. I’m not certain, but could the “always honest, never biased” Jose Sulaiman have had something to do with removing the blemish from JCC’s record?

Maybe they just want you to worship their new school idols, PAC and Floyd...lol! They were both great for their time, but would’ve never climbed into the ring with previous WW greats, namely Hearns. Plus with same day weigh ins and the absence of catch weights, Floyd would’ve fought at JWW and PAC would’ve fought at LW.

It makes no difference what era fighters are born in, it's more about the shape they're in, whether they can make the weight, and whether or not they can overcome the stage fright and perform on the night.
