Who honestly scored their first fight for Ward????

    Seriously, I just finished watching it again.
    I gave the 3rd, 5th, 8th, 9th and 12th to ward. And being honest the any of the 3rd, 5th, 8th, and 12th could have been given to Kovalev. Which means Ward really only had one clear round for him. This fight should have been a wide UD, with or without the knock down.

    Final scorecard:

    115-112

    And that is as close as I could ever see this fight being scored.

    Even if you're a ward fan admit it, he lost the first fight!

    I like your score card. I agree it was a scrappy fight and the energy levels and intensity was similar.

    116-111 is a good score. People who think it was closer then this answer this, can you remember any left hooks or right hands that Andre Ward landed to Kovalev's head?

    116 - 111 Kovalev was the score Harold Lederman had, that's as close as you could give SOB....................SOB did not fight.....................82% had Kovalev winning. SOB said that neutral judges would not be fair to him, of course now, SOB has to cheat, the only was SOB can win.................

    Floyd Mayweather had Kovalev winning that fight as well and he hates Eastern European fighters.............

    I had it 9-3 Kov and I could stretch it to 8-4....not including the knockdown being a 10-8 round.

    Too wide. I scored the fight first time of watching a draw. Second time have it to ward by 2.

    How and why did you give Kov round 11? That was a clear Ward round.

    It's possible to score it for Ward though, but not the way all 3 official judges did. They seem to have scored it the "point of no return way" as I call it, with all of them scoring themselves into a corner, and then refusing to give Kovalev one of the later rounds (not even round 10) because that would have made it impossible for Ward to still win without knockdowns, point deductions or a stoppage. In other words, highly unlikely.

    There are some good posters that came out with reasonable ways to get to the 114-113 score for Ward, at the time of the fight. Clearly the minority, but still.
    Most posters other that scored it for Ward after, were clearly searching for ways to score it in his advantage in my opinion.

    It was possible to score it for Ward by a very slight margin, due to the odd way boxing is scored, but the consensus was Kovalev close but clear.

    However upon re-watching it, I had it 115-112 Kovalev.
    It could've went either way.

    7-5 Kovalev.3 point win IMO but not the most outrageous robbery ever. Hopefully they put on another great show. Ward came back well in the 2nd half of the fight.

    Ward never won that fight.

    He was knocked down,out landed and out boxed.
