Who honestly thinks that Bowe should have won the rematch vs. Holyfield?

I think a lot more of Evander's victory had to do with his improved tactics and use of his skills, rather than simply trying to bludgeon a bigger, stronger, heavier punching heavyweight on the inside(Bad, bad plan).

Bowe may not have been in the shape he was in for the first fight, but it didn't honestly seem to affect him much. He didn't gas, he threw a ton of punches, and he was the pressuring fighter. He was just soundly outboxed.

And anybody who tries to say, "Well if he was in better shape he'd have just brought MORE pressure and threw MORE punches", it's not that easy. Holyfield was doing the right things to stop it all, Bowe got done about what he had the ability to get done.

Nip and tuck fighter, and a peak Bowe might have done enough damage when the fight did drift in side to shade the decision, but Evander proved reasonably clearly that they were pretty evenly matched when he was boxing intelligently.

It was extremely close and easily could have been a draw .. Evander got it more because of Bowe disappointing than anything else ... yes he boxed but it was a razor thin decision ...

Holyfield made the mistake of trading blows up close with Bowe the first fight. The second fight he moved and counter punched very nicely,it wasnt a close fight to me, Holyfield won easily and the stoppage helped Bowe.

Evander won. And I think that was the first time he had Emanuel Steward.

I went with Commander Vander by a few points.

I also think fanman saved Bowe from weathering a major storm. He was just about on the empty line as far as gastank is concerned and needed to take a during the round breather to get back to a quarter tank. Holyfield had him throwing a ton of punches earlier in the round. He was slipping most of them and just waiting and fighting smart and I don't even think was stung. Bowe was going to have to take some time off and recharge and that's the instances when Holyfield cleaned up on the guy and did his best work.
