Do you remember what Mendoza did to Tokunbo Olajide? He wiped him out. The guy is a serious puncher. **** knows what Lacys handlers are thinking. I like Lacys attitude but he could end up like another David Reid.

 

Styles make fights end of story. Stop talking crap. Lacy is not shot. He was just never that good to begin with. His power is overrated as he doesnt put them together well. He possess no jab to speak of. Has very little head movement. Doesnt operate around the ring well and follows his opponent without throwing ANY leather. The bottom line is Lacy is a flawed fighter. That DOES NOT make him shot. If you give Lacy a few confidence boosters like D level fighters he`ll eat them up. But as soon as his faced with any box punchers his toast. His been matched horribly and the result is what we saw prior to last night.

Lacy was much better in fights with B-listers prior to Calzaghe tattooing his face.

Syd Vanderpool, Rubin Williams, Robin Reid - he was explosive, fast and powerful with great composure and ferocity.

If you knew the mechanics of Lacy's amateur style , where by he utilised a great jab and head movement you would then understand where Dan Birmingham's defensive blueprint was completely wrong for Jeff.

By remaining static under fire, Lacy simply obligated his opponent and afforded them a free moment of pot-shotting. Lacy would hide in his shell and by the time he felt comfortable to lower his guard and throw shots, any opponent with good footwork would be to the right hand side of Jeff's right hand.

Calzaghe turned Jeff all over the place and hit him from the front and mainly from either side, befuddling the Floridian.

Now Jeff is a man devoid of style, no plan B, just plodding forward hoping his power will win him the fight.

He's not developed as a fighter, infact he's regressed. Wheras someone like Hopkins was like a fine wine.... poor Jeff has turned to vinegar.

 

The Torn Rotator Cuff has affected his performances. Great fighters are supposed to comeback from a loss, anyway. OK, his performances havent been great, but he hasn't lost since Joe beat him.

 

Lacy has been poor since 05 and can not hope to get any type of result against a top quality fighter like the guys at the top of the Super Middle division or the Light Heavy division. Lacy is just a name fighter now who has no hope of causing these guys any problems, he is just some guy who will look good on a real contenders record.
