 Yeah, he was only down 4-0 with a point deducted before being "cheap shotted", so it stands to reason that he would have won five of the next eight rounds had he not tried to hug and kiss Floyd that fourth time. :nut

    Nobody.

I think De La Hoya could have, but he forgot to throw a jab after round 9. But it was probably because he was tired of getting slapped by counter punches.

But yeah, Cotto probably did as well as anybody outside of Castillo has ever done against Mayweather.

    I'd agree with that.

Which is a testament to Mayweather. Cotto fought a great fight, was game in ALL rounds, fought til the end, was motivated and confident - and still only won 2 or 3 rounds.

Now that Mayweather's career is either over or nearly over, it's time to look back and appreciate.

Not nut-hug, and hate on him by people who don't like him, but what he has done has been pretty amazing.

I thought Oscar won 3 or 4 rounds, Cotto won 2 rounds, Judah won 2 or 3 rounds, Chavez and Carlos Hernandez each won 2 or 3 rounds, no one else outside of Castillo won more than a round vs. Mayweather. It's hard to win rounds against a guy that lands so cleanly and rarely gets hit clean.

Castillo won 5 in the first. Castillo won 4 or 5 in the immediate rematch.
Cotto and Judah both won 3 rounds.
    Oscar won 4 rounds.

    (^ my scores)

I agree with most of both those scores.

I don't want this to come across as a "nut-hugging" thread, but it's just appreciation.

15 years as champion, undefeated, 8 world titles, 5 weight divisions, 18 former/future/current world champions and numerous hall of famers.

All while going undefeated and barring ONE fighter, he didn't lose more than 4 rounds in any fights.

    Exceptional.

Even if you think Casitillio, De La Hoya and Cotto beat him (your wrong). He's had a career that is unmatched by his peers.
Even given the binifet of the doubt in any close match Pacquiao has nothing on Mayweather.

    DLH? name them.

Ortiz gets a cheap shot? and the jumping headbutt wasn't. Protect yourself at all times. He got what he deserved.
