Both were much better at 47 than 135 but Shane was a bully at lightweight while Floyd looked weak.

It's been said, but I'll reinforce:

    1) Hearns
    2) Robinson
    3) Leonard

Hearns beats him on the outside, and Floyd doesn't have the sustained offense to pressure him. He can sneak in potshots with the left hook -- and that's saying something, since that right is lying in wait -- and not much else.

Robinson is arguably the best fighter of all-time at his best weight. I think he can box, and explode in spots. The man has some blistering combo's, and has dared them against bigger and more dangerous punchers than Floyd at welter. Floyd's defense is one of the best in history -- but Robinson's timing, his ring generalship, when he opens up, he will catch Floyd at some point. And then Floyd is in deep with a shark in the water,

Both Leonard and Floyd are hard to hit clean when they focus on not being hit -- but Leonard's offense makes the difference.

Against Hearns? Yes. Absolutely. I don't think he can stop Hearns, and I think he gets beat on the outside. It's a bad style for him.

first person to come out of my mind is sweet pea...Leftie(see Judah Fight), Speed (DLH-Judah)...

There was a theory that PBF was bothered by lefties, indeed there is trouble if you fight the right combination of speed and defense...other reason why i believe pac could overwhelm PBF...

Third point and most important...Sweet Pea threw a decent number of punches per round...pretty high output for a defensive fighter

I'm not sure to be honest. Although many consider me a Mayweather nuthugger. The fighters below 135 off the top of my head I'd make 50-50 with Mayweather would be Duran and Whitaker, I really can't think of any others. I know the history of boxing and I don't think any of them have the tools to pull it off, maybe Napoles and Mosley. There's a young Ray Robinson ofcourse though.

Paul Williams. You don't have to go that far back to find a guy who give Floyd problems.

May couldn't fight fire with fire and volume guys like Williams, Pac and to a much higher degree - Duran would be trouble for him.

Someone on here mentined Luis Rodriguez and tha`st a damn good fighter worth mentioning. As for PBF/Hearns. I`m not talking about a close fight, or Hearns trying to `figure` out PBF. I`m talking about a killer stalking his prey, without a nickel`s worth of fear. If Hearns didn`t respect you (and he always went out to get his respect) he would walk right through you. This is not a fight, and yes I would bet my house on Hearns. He would salivate at getting a guy like PBF in the ring. This ends with 4-5 rds by brutal KO. 135 lbs of Duran (prime) beats him. Does anyone on here really think that PBF can survive being on the ropes and try to smother Duran ???? For all his bragging,he would show PBF things he has never seen, and Duran fought rough. Do you think he would apologize for a head butt or calmly drilling him in the groin to send a message ? Duran was a master with head feints, fast hands and shots loaded with power. Aaron Pryor beats him at 140, with JCC a tough fight as well. You have to remember that PBF lost to JLC first time out. Scary to think of what prime time Duran,JCC,Pryor,SRR,SRL,Hearns,Rodriguez would do with him ...

I think the hardest thing by far for ANY of the fighters mentioned above would be to actually get Mayweather in a ring in the first place. His resume shows his aversion to risk over reward.

Does anyone seriously think he would have faced either Mosley, or DLH had they been in their primes? The way he baulks at facing a pumped up flyweight ( albeit a very good one ) makes me think he would rather eat his own **** than face murderous punchers like Tommy, and SRR, swarmers like Duran, or someone with both more skill, and power than him like a Leonard.

There were also others from sweat pea, Mosley lower weight, and many others...PAC on a roll, problem is getting Floyd in the ring...interesting would be Floyd vs GGG at super-middleweight

Considering Floyd has never fought above 154, that would most likely be a slaughter, don't you think? I mean, even Golovkin hasn't fought at 168?

I have not the slightest problem with my critque of Floyd. When you make it your business to manage your career and record, carefully with minimal risk...You ask for it. The BIG difference with PBF and these other greats,is they sought out, wanted even chased the best, they wanted bragging rights. You can almost see the condescding sneers of Duran,SRL and Hearns when the talk turns to Mayweather. Even for all you PBF fans, can you imagine how embarrasing it would be to watch PBF, hide, duck and try to ignore being called out by these greats ? You all have to know that he would never have even stepped in the ring against these TRUE greats ! Imagine,Ali ducking Frazier, SRL calmy avoiding the menacing Hitman,Duran hiding from the bigger SRL, or Duran not having the cojones to tackle the the ever imposing Hearns ??No it didn`t happen with them because what true champions do is call out the best ...
