I think you are reaching a little too much here with Fitz..

I rate him in the top 5 greatest fighters of all time, just for mostly what he accomplished at his time, which is still unheard of.

But the videos I have seen of him, I don't think he would stand a good chance against Roy at 168 or 175.

Most of the reason I think Roy would win is because boxing has evolved so much since then, fights back then even almost looked like a different sport that boxing is now. It is not really fair to make a comparison, Fitz was an extremely hard puncher, but he was very flat footed, and not too fast, and a specimen like Roy, that came along with 100 years of boxing evolution on his side, would beat him on legs alone, being able to land and get out.

Not because I am a Roy fan do I think Roy would win, but just that Fitz's style would not be that effective in today's boxing, it is too hard for me to compare that era to a recent era. Was Fitz more accomplished? Yeah, head to head though, Roy would have seemed like an alien to him, from outer space.

In all fairness to Calzahge he was "The man" at LHW for the last part of his career. In my opinion, the lineal title holder was not the best fighter for years. It went from Jones, to Tarver, to Johnson, back to Tarver, then to Hopkins, then to Joe.

That was the true LHW championship in my eyes.

Yep, it would have been a barn burner, I would pick a peak Roy to come out on top though, exciting fight.

Huh? The washed up version put Slappy Joe on his duff with a forearm connect. Prime Roy would have had him out in no more than 4.

I honestly believe If even that version of Roy connected with the fist on that punch would have hurt Calzaghe even more. The ref was on the back side and could not see that the forearm hit Calzaghe... It was not intentional in my opinion, it just goes to show you one of Joe's weird angles.
