I don't follow K1 that much, more of a boxing fan, but since K1 is on free tv here i occasionally watch it, and everytime Schildt wins rather easily. Is he the best around?

He is, allthough i think Peter Aarts has a pretty good shot with his solid fundamentals

Peter Aerts is the GOAT...but like hoost , he's "past prime"...at this stage of his career...This is the Schilt era...

Schilt is a bit like Valuev as far as the size is concerned...(i think valuev is a bit taller though )... Only unlike valuev , he's fast and more skilled...

and even though schilt ain't no Aerts , hug , hoost , ignashov etc....etc...in the skills department , he's good enough to beat anyone because he's too big.

The guy is NOT a freak show....and that's precisely why he keeps on winning.
A huge guy , with real skills , good stamina , timing...
    hes not invincible though....

the other major problem is that this isn't boxing....
This guy's legs are ****ing long too...his reach advantage is just huge...and with his kicks alone , he can keep a big distance between him and his opponent..

Well last weekend i just saw him beat Aerts for the K1 championship. It was a re-run, but still. Aerts injured his ankle so that stains the win a bit, but he was definitely ahead and landed some good knees/combo's in the first.

I watched the same K1 grand prix and Schilt looked fairly dominant over evry one he fought, stopped le Banner and Aerts, impressive

If Ignashov got his **** together, and started training hard and quit partying, he could. Check out the only time they fought at a Showtime show, Ignashov crushed his face with knees. In K-1's ******ed clinch rules it would be different, but still Iggy has the right combination of speed, power, and technical ability to pick Schilt apart.

The same can be said of Glaube Feitosa but he still comes up short.

Allthogh he hit Schilt with a tremendous high kick that buckeled Schilt's knees and allmost caused a down. And it wasn't even flush. Imagine if it was hit with the shin instead of with the foot

Feitosa doesn't have anywhere near Ignashov's size and technical boxing ability to every match up favorably with Schilt.

hong man choi has beaten him before =)

i think he is only good against those shorter than him so he can use his reach and height advantage

Well in that case he's pretty secure of a place at the top, since everyone except for Choi is shorter than him. I also think he is much more gifted in terms of speed and technique than Choi.

His high kicks are better i think and so is his desire and will to compete at the highest level
