Good call.never a great but go back 6 or 7 years,u would never call him doing what he has.
Crolla to a lesser degree.coming up thru domestic, then getting put in a coma to come back and be a big player,i never seen that coming

Miguel Cotto (he's the lowest tier of HOF, yet still HOF IMO). No one thought he'd have a resurgence in his career after losing to Trout. He has Freddie Roach to thank for that. I watched Cotto-Canelo twice and both times had Cotto winning 115-113 - for me, it's this very performance that has made him just reach HOF.
Otherwise he's the 'elite' fighter that I'd always pen down to lose to the fellow elites in the past. For example, I don't for a second believe he beats the likes of even a Buddy McGirt let alone elites better than those fighters.

I don't believe Froch should make HOF personally but I can certainly understand him being elected for HOF, but yes, Froch.
If Bradley beats 1 very good or 2 good opponents, he'll make HOF. He doesn't look HOF material, though.

Maybe we have to specified first what exactly is talent. Cause most relates it to speed and athletic ability. Would physical toughness and chin= talents as well? I would say yes. This might not answer the OP question, but it can be argued that margarito is more talented then say, a Amir Khan.

Talent is natural ability, the reason froch stood out to me is that he relied heavilly on mccracken to instruct him were he was going wrong,in the mean time he was getting destroyed in some cases but an absolute granite chin and superb engine got him to the corner after each round.
George groves would be champ without doubt with any lesser man,as a big puncher he nailed him flush all night to the point he knew he couldnt ko him,he gets on my tittts to be honest froch but his chin is atg without question along with heart

He was seen as great when he beat trinidad, he was just not a star yet.

Good points, however that's why I posted the question, what is talent? And you said natural ability, which is of course correct. Then it can be argued that Froch physical toughness and chin is his talent, cause they are natural and born with. In this sense, Froch talent is actually abundant.

P.S. I actually edited my last post before your reply:)

Fair point.if numerous fighters had these qualities in the past they would be monstrous, imagine hearns with it.but in fairness, the likes of chuvallo, mccall, who had more skills in the bank imo and tons of others, who can you say has become 3 time world champ ?
Not an argument just its always got me as froch looks awful technically

What exactly is your argument? Yous asked for HOF level fighters without much talent and i said bernard hopkins. Are you saying he doesnt deserve to be in the HOF?

My argument is the esteem you hold him in.above jones ??? Nope.
Better than calzaghe even, who i never rated as much as most, well no,how can there be an argument when he avoided it like the plague, then when they fought jc won.
    Is he hof,yes,on greatness,no,on achievements over a certain age,yes.
Are you a floyd fan ?
Without being patronising, and in no way disrespecting your views on hopkins, just a quick one ?

Ok fair enough.most people who admire hopkins tho would describe him as one of the most savvy and skilled defensive fighters of his era.
