Toney was awesome, never KO'd too which is impressive considering he fought hard hitters such as Rahman, Peter, Jirov

    Goat chin and defence
    Lacked discipline
Roy had more athletic attributes, but Toney was definitely the more talented boxer

Steve Collins said he used to drink coke while sparring and cutting weight lol

    Love Toney

If he was more dedicated he would be a Top 10 ATG but i think in terms of pure natural boxing skills he's Top 5

Boxing skills he is easily Floyd level, maybe better natural talent?
Floyd more discipline for sure and better speed

    Toney had goat chin
    Toughness
    Can box
    Punch

Yes he should be top 10

He still is in the conversation mate. Guy went from f.....g middleweight to heavyweight and competed

Roy snatched a belt and went away, were as Toney went up to bang with beasts lol

Rjj still had the most dominant prime imo, a lot to do with his freakish agility and general athleticism

But Toney was old school as they come. Imagine he had Bhops discipline? Or Hopkins had his talent?
Bhop deserves more respect than anyone because he made the very most of his talent and achieved much more than anyone expected

I will say If Sandy Saddler overpowered Willie Pep then Uncle Azumah would as well but I know you think I am biased.

I agree, Im a B-hop fan too. I recently watched an interview of him where he basically said one of the main reasons for his longevity was his diet. He also came out of prison and made something out of his life, gotta respect that. Him becoming the oldest world champ was special

He lived like a monk, as did Floyd
But he took it to another level

If toney had that discipline he would be the GOAT imo

Im glad you give Toney some recognition i thought im the only one on here lol. You've been watching this longer than me but it seems that we think alike and we rate the same fighters like Lennox, Duran, Hopkins, Toney etc.

I remember him calling out Eubanks and Benn at the same time on television nearly 30 years ago lol

Man doesn't matter age, or how long we have watched. It's not hard to see who is best

I like scientific boxers, who are also happy to trade if required

All the guys on your list can do that. People think Duran is a chavez type brawler? Lol

He has some awesome defence and he can defend while moving forward applying pressure. Yes he can maul you, but he can box too

I might go and watch Hopkins v Tarver now that we mention him. That fight just like the pavlik fight was beautiful

    He was a master technician

That was a master class, Hopkins made it look easy on schooling guys like him, Pavlik as you mentioned, Trinidad, DLH, Glen Johnson and so on. He had a great boxing brain , another guy who was underrated was Winky Wright who was extremely hard to hit clean
