I have to say this about Ali, as I am a fan, and I feel he gets undue stick.

Liston 1 wasn't at all dodgy, imo-He tried to cheat and blind Ali and swung for the fences that round. Why throw a fight if you're gonna get dirty and try to win by knockout? It doesn't make sense.

People drill on Shavers, Young, and Norton 3, and take for granted their own opinions. A large segment of the population indeed believes Ali won these fights-Not one of them is held or can be held as a Lewis-Holyfield I or a Whitaker-Chavez.

He gets underrated by people who list this. Won his trilogies with 2 fighters who beat him, avenged a loss in the twilight of his career when he was absolutely finished.

Ali, the best heavyweight of all time. I don't believe it can be argued otherwise. I am a fan, but the criticism he gets is, in my mind, extremely shaky. He has the best resume of any heavyweight, and is clearly atleast top 3 H2H.

    Of course he doesn't.

But if we're only talkin' ten, then he should be able to cite eight better than Lewis.

Just for the sake of explication.

One of the greatest performances by any boxer in the last thirty years !

Edit: I just realized it was more than thirty years ago.

sounds to me like your one of those guys who just watches him after he has willard on ***** street. Some of the step aways and moves that dempsey does prior to the 140 mark are really very sharp....the dempsey roll he does to drop willard the first time is a thing of beauty..after the he does load up..for one because he knows willard is not much of danger..and also he wants to get that first round ko (which kearns bet the house on)

but the main thing..dempsey is no longer rated all that high by most boxing historians...so i dont think you can say he is overrated..
