How would he do that when he couldn't decapitate Rubio or Alcine of all people. I'm a big fan of Lemieux for the record.
you forgot to list british under your nationality if you're not prepared to do that, then your agenda becomes pretty obvious
1- Jacobs based on his overwhelming talent and power. 2- cotto based consistent career performances culminating in the martinez demolition. 3- golovkin based on ...not quite sure what...lack of other options, i guess. 4- quillen- to be honest, the only thing that impresses me about this guy is that he only had 15 amateur fights and he's now a world champ...that is ****in impressive as ****! especially when you consider that guys like ggg had like 300 amateur fights...quillin needs another 30 to 40 rounds to really be the top guy at mw.
What has Jacobs done that impresses you that much, he's fought a bunch of bums and when he stepped up he got KO'd. Give me one win he has that's as impressive as Stevens or Geale, and I'm not saying they're that great.
I am a Jacobs fan, but he is still several levels below GGG. He might be able to get up there, but if you have to pace yourself and are a bit uncertain and hesitant about how to go about a fight with Fletcher you are nowhere close. Not saying he looked bad or made a mistake, he had not had many actual rounds since his return. Having a bit of caution kick in after an overwhelming first round was probably smart and the instinct for patience will serve him well in the long run. But hes just not on that level. His biomechanics and punching technique are levels below, his ring iq and generalship is a couple levels under, most attributes are nowhere close. But he is improving and having some more rounds with progressively tougher opponents will do him good. After all he has been through its almost like being a prospect again, where you shake rust and find your groove and hopefully surpass the level you were previously at. Not writing him off, he might do great things and I hope he does. But if you think he is anywhere close to GGG you dont know what you are looking at.
C. Cotto 1. Golovkin 2. Quillin 3. Soliman 4. Geale 5. Rubio So the correct answer is Peter 'choco child' Quillin.
obviously, GGG is #1. It is then a huge drop to #2, so huge in fact it is rather blurry as to who sits there.
Agreed. Johnson, Stevens, Murray, Saunders, Macklin, Geale, Soliman, Rubio off the top of my head all beat Petey.
Nonsense really. We know Golovkin beats Cotto, he actually has a MW record, Golovkin is #1. No he doesn't. Murray beat him first - in Argentina. I'd like to see Cotto-Murray. Nonsense-talk. Commentary is irrelevant because the fight was clear, Murray was even robbed of a knockdown. Martinez was the HBO guy anyway, that fight wasn't aired because of Martin Murray.
Yes it was aired, and the majority of the commentary was how they couldn't believe how bad Martinez looked. Murray won at best 3 rounds, if you add 2 knockdowns he still loses. Martinez was slipping many of Murray's punches in close, a lot of what you think lands clean doesn't.
I'm American. Should the Box Azteca commentators who scored the fight for Murray also change their nationality?
He isn't even that, but he's still up there for me. I'd favor the entire top10 minus Cotto against him. But just like Cotto himself, who isn't close to be the best either, you can't simply ignore him.
The number 2 is probably Quillen. Cotto gets easily outpointed and possibly stopped by many of the top 10 mw, so Cotto is number 3 at best, only because he has a fraud linear title. No one of the twos wants anything to do with the best middleweight, so any discussion is useless, they. won't. fight. period. Cotto and Quillen are ducking.
