Diaconu will get stopped ... this guy hasn't did anything that would grant him any edge over Dawson ... Dawson has fought 2 former world title holders in his last 3 fights. Diaconu is a filler/madatory and will get taken out very fast ... 5'9 ... slow ... not skilled ... fringe contender ... has no chance of beating the much fast, stronger, longer, 6'3 and still filling out his frame Dawson.
Dawson is looking for the big names and the shark simply doesn't measure up. He had his chance to fight Chad but pulled out with an injury, he has no one to blame but himself.
Even at this point of his career Mosley is on a whole different level than Dawson. Just look at how he fought on very even terms with one of the most feared punchers in the sport, he dominated Collazo when they fought. Mosley is a great figher, Dawson is a good fighter.
I can see that if he has agreed to terms to fight Tarver ... since Tarver has the IBF strap. Diaconu pulled out of the fight because of injury ... thats when Dawson fought Mendoza ... This guy is nothing to be afraid of ... are you canadian or something ... do you know something about this guy that alot of the american public doesn't know? Is he faster, taller, and more skilled than he appears to be? Did he become a good boxer all of a sudden? I don't think a win over Chris Henry grants much praise.
Yeah...Tarver is an easier fight for Dawson and better risk/reward, but less money, than Diaconu. Fewer legacy points, though, I think.
Dawson still is an unproven fighter not on Mosley's Class level. IMO Someone tell Chad that G.Johnson said "You can borrow my Title"
Why is Tarver an easier fight? I was distinctly underwhelmed with Diaconu. He has no defence whatsoever. Slow as hell. Overrated power. Some horrible stamina He'll get tagged all night walking forward like that. At least Tarver has some ring smarts and defence, even if he only fights in spurts
With that chin, there is no way Dawson is better than Mosley, who as a veteran still competes at the top level. Dawson won't have the long career that Shane has had that's for sure. The kid is always just a punch away from tasting the canvas. Beautiful speed and crisp punches that are a joy to watch, that much I will give him....
