I would like to throw in Roger Mayweather but other than Floyd he really hasn't trained that many fighters....

    NACHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Beristain....
Hes got 2 top 10 p4p and a future p4p star in Abner Mares.

He trains smart fighters that can either bang or box. Thats the perfect fighter right there.

Steward? Is this a joke? Look at this track record the last 3-4 years. He's a loser.

Steward has a great record in Championship fights, it's what like 20-5 or something, the guy turned glass chinned Wlad into one of the most dominant fighters in the game today, and also lead a journeymen at the time in McCall to knockout a prime Lennox Lewis in 94', Steward is still a force in boxing, just because he couldnt get Taylor to listen to him, doesnt make him a bad trainer.

    Just Taylor?

Maybe you missed his baby project Andy Lee getting owned. Or him giving Cintron the wrong instructions this last Saturday and going to the booth a few seconds right after his fighter got owned and flashed that stupid looking smile next to Lampley.

He might've been a great trainer back in the days but today, he pretty much sucks.

    mayweather.... by far

if i had to place my money on one trainer...
if i was a boxer before i met them all i would look at it like this
    if i had to choose

    all steward boxers lose
roach as a boxer got beat up on
mayweather was nice as a boxer and it runs in his blood
    and his boxers win..

    easy choise

    Steward is a Douchbag.

After his fighter (Cintron) suffers a brutal, possibly career altering beatdown, he runs right to his announcer spot with a big old smile on his face to talk about the beatdown.

For what he was probably getting paid he should have been back in the locker room with Cintron.

    I'm going with Mayweather Sr.

And it's exactly this type of action by Steward which tells you that HE isn't focused on training his fighters as much as he used to be in his younger days. And maybe the fighters see the lack of commitment by Steward and that is why his fighters find it harder to listen to him.

Thats true, I was just looking at it from a career standpoint, but I guess your right in a sense, when talking about Lee and Cintron. He still got Wlad, so he isnt really out of the game yet.

I agree completely. His fighters are just a paycheck to him.

If Wlad gets KTFO again, watch him totally change his tune about him.

Steward is a good corner man, and good trainer. He did have a staff of trainers at Kronk who did most of work with fighters, but he knows his stuff. He also knows when to yell, when to talk soft, when to push a fighter, and when to stop a fight. A lot of trainers blow th efight by bad corner work. His guys seem to always be in shape. From all the years he has been around he has learned a lot. He may not be best, or he may be best.

If you mean strictly training and teaching in gym, that I can't answer. He is as good as most in that aspect, I assume.

One more overlooked thing, the respect factor. A Steward, a Dundee, a Duva, can get away with more, and get a ref or comisioner to give fighter another round, or get referee to listen to them if they fell opponent is fouling, for example. For example, IMO, if Steward had been in Vitali Klitschko's corner instead of Lewis', fight would have gone at least another round.

Roach was a very good fighter, in a competitive divison.

Mayweather Sr by a distance. I can never understand what the **** that crack addict is saying, his interviews need god damn subtitles but there must be a method to his madness. His track record speaks for itself

    Then Roach

Steward is garbage unless he has a tall jabber

Depends on the fighter. I think that they all have their strengths.
