yall realize G has absolutely NOTHING to do with in ring performances. no, no it wasn't.....G has been around before Floyd was even born. It was used by the likes of Nikki Barnes, Frank Lucas, Guy Fisher (REAL OG's) in the 60's.

This site is full of ******ed *****s and other youngins who try to apply it to boxing and fail miserably by including the likes of SRL/Martinez/Marquez etc....who are great boxers but actually the polar opposite of a G. They're all nice guys who'd make you feel proud if your daughter brought them home.

G= Gangsta not good boxer who fights all comers and is a beast in the ring.... it has nothing to do with in ring performance. Mitch Green was the biggest G in boxing history and he sucked in the ring.

 

Based off this poll looks like most people in this forum think G stands for "Good".

Leonard just played the nice guy role well, for the most part. He was great in front of the cameras, charismatic, and spoke well.

He used his wife Juanita as a punching bag. Hearns was a classy guy and even be said "Ray pretends to be this nice guy that he isn't". Ray humiliated Hagler in front of a large audience with his building up of a fight and then saying the fight would never happen. He dumped Angelo Dundee and his team (with family members) after many years to which his brother Roger said years later "that was cold" how he could so easily do that to his family.

He wasn't a "G", just a bit of a snake.

 

Being a G does not just mean having a criminal record. G does not mean just gangster. G was originally used by 5 percenters in reference to God. Flashy lifestyle, being against the system, gettng over on the system doing something improbable, doing your own thang, any of that can define a G. When Leonard Bollo punched Duran, that was certainly a G moment. Though I agree, Leonard is a suck up. And thus not a G.
