GBP make millions of $$$'s from him, that's why they protect him. Case in point the paid off judge vs FMJ. GGG is not winning a UD against Canelo neither even if its a total one sided beat-down. This is pretty common knowledge throughout the boxing world. Why is that? Its because he's protected.

As for who he's ducked, well he forfeited his MW title to avoid GGG a few years ago. He's yet to rematch Lara(Many people had Lara beating him) & he's not unified any division because he's been to busy beating up 140lb boxers instead at silly catch-weights his body demands.

I'm not a Canelo hater, I just think he's overrated as hell and isn't worth $80 a pop he charges for his fights. He's on Lara's level, its a decent level but he's not in the elite category. FMJ who is a few weight classes beneath him showed the difference in skills. Their fight, that was worth $80.

Canelo, easy. And it's no diss on Joshua. Canelo is just the #1 money man right now.

There's a reason why there have been tons of articles quoting Joshua himself, his manager, his trainer, and others around him about the importance of hopefully one day crossing over the pond to fight in and gain popularity in America.

Also, this wasn't even close to being close to a debate prior to just a couple weeks ago when he fought Wladimir. Canelo has been raking in views, millions of dollars, and generating mass discussion for 7 years now.

neither are as big as Kim Kardashian.

because that's what we are talking about, right? How much public exposure they have

marketing and boxing are two separate subjects, sometimes they overlap, but the latter gets way too much attention

Only really follow heavyweights. I do know other big boxer, but Canelo is not that famous in the UK.

Like I said thought he was just famous for fighting Floyd, who is big.

You sound like a 4chan nerd that is extra sensitive. I'd mock your mom for bringing you into the world and wasting precious oxygen. That's why I support abortion all the way up to contractions start. If only your mother knew of her options.

"it is very hard to be famous for boxing in the USA"
Our most famous athlete of all time is a boxer. Boxing is a very difficult sport that doesnt enjoy the support that other amateur sports do which is the most important thing for a sport to flourish. Besides that here in the united states theres Football, baseball, basketball, mma and entertainment which have a far larger number of athletes that can participate. Golf gets more support than boxing from the television networks also. There is a lot more going on here in the states that people can pay attention to so boxing has fallen back but is far from dead. In fact boxing is slowly making a comeback. The sport needs to keep selling itself with big fights on ppv and young stars on network prime time.

    "sounds like a dead market"
    You couldnt be more wrong.

"I don't live there, so no idea, that is just what I have heard from a few American's on here."
So you dont know crap and base your argument on what you heard from some of the geniuses on this forum? Brilliant.

"I mean 1 million PPV in a country that has a population of 300,000,000 is actually very poor."

"Joshua selling 1.7 million PPV in a country with the population at 65,000,000 is very impressive."

Absolutely **** poor argument. 300 mil people dont have cable here in the states. There are also fight parties, sportsbars and illegal streaming that cut into ppv sales. Also in the US we pay far more than you Brits for ppv.
In Germany on free tv over 10 million people saw the Joshua/Klitscko fight compared to only 1.4 million ppv sales in Great Britain so obviously boxing is dying as a sport there right?

Look we`re getting off topic the fact remains that if Joshua became a star here in the states he makes way more money than he would being a star in europe alone.
