This isn't rocket science. Considering the US & Mexico combined have a population of over 450 million.. & both have huge (historically speaking) boxing pedigree & history. Plus Canelo fought the PPV king Floyd & is the darling of Mexico.. Boxing barely registers in Europe (other than in the UK & Germany really) & is seen as archaic & prehistoric by most societies here. Soccer, Tennis, Golf, F1, Rugby union... These are the mainstream. Other than the big stadium fights in a couple of nations once in a while boxing barely registers. Ireland, UK, Germany.. Yes there boxers have a following but even then it's mostly casuals who like the soap opera part & jump on a hype band-wagon & like the football hooligan chant/tribalism about it. Them most fade away again.. That is my sense of it anyway.

I thought they were fairly accurate. Khan really landed only a handful of clean shots, again the expectation were canelo would destroy him but we should had known Khan could look great for a little being so much faster.

As early as round 2 canelo was already setting him up and had took control. I've seen it only one time other than live and never scored it but Khan wasn't really landing, and landing one clean great looking shot doesn't automatically win a round when you're absorbing great body snatches.

The fmj cards had me confused, that was supposed to be in with the new and out with the hated old. Maybe I'll have to score it..

Cos he fought Klitschko for one & for another GB isn't Europe as a whole. I don't think he was 'trending' like that after Martin & Whyte do you?? You cannot measure his global popularity by his UK popularity. Canelo is clearly a bigger name than Joshua by miles.. & i don't even like the kid really LOL

Evidence doesn't seem to back that up. It seems pretty close tbh.

I can tell you that Anthony Joshua is far more popular than Canelo in Europe.

So what you saying it's Canelo?in boxing terms I would tend to agree with that as I don't think AJ is well known in the states like say Lennox was but that could all change.
Over here in the U.K. At least AJ is becoming well known to folk who don't follow boxing which has been the hard nut to crack of late, remember Tyson and how everyone knew the name I don't think anyone outside of boxing would know Canelo

Joshua has been searched for far more than Wlady over the last couple of years in Germany, so I would say yes they do care.

Google trends also says he is popular in France and Italy.

This is actually incorrect. Joshua has been trending over the last two years higher than Canelo on Google.

The only places people search for Canelo is North America, Britain and Spain.

Joshua is searched for on every single continent on the planet.

Google trends shows Joshua is clearly the far bigger star, and far more we'll know star across the planet.

Who would search him by "Saúl Alvarez"?

If you use Canelo you will find it's a very different story:
