LOL, total revenue generated debunks your statement.
Check your numbers before posting Canelo/Chavez Jr has done over 1 mill at $74.99 per PPV that's a total of $75 mill just in PPV.
Joshua/WK did 1.5 million PPV at $24.99 per PPV, that's a total of $25 mill.
Canelo/Chavez Jr will end up generating twice as much as Joshua/WK which was considered a bigger fight.

Same can be said about Joshua, he needed WK to pull in big PPV numbers.

This google thing is bull****. Look around yourself and ask the people around you who Joshua and who Canelo is... I bet even my grandma has heard of Joshua.

Yes, it made over 1 million ppv buys at $74.99 per ppv. Yes, the T-Mobile arena was sold out and you have to remember ticket prices where higher.

You're right, Canelo/Chavez Jr wasn't as near the magnitude as AJ/WK but the hilarious part is that it generated more revenue.

Why don't you talk about how much revenue will Canelo/GGG generate. We know for damn sure Canelo will be bringing all the PPV buys since GGG couldn't break 200K PPV's on his last fight.

If the Americans are stupid enough ti pay 75 dollars for a fight that's their problem. The fact is 500, 000 more people paid to watch AJ Wlad, that's a lot more people.

How many watched Canelo v Jr in the UK? Couple of hundred thousand at a push. How many people in america watched AJ Wlad? Around 1.5 million.

Canelo Jr may have made more ppv money. But a lot more people paid to watch AJ Wlad and again more people worldwide watched AJ Wlad. Well certainly in the boxing superpower nations (UK and America).

As for saying AJ didn't do big numbers v Wlad, what numbers has Canelo been doing without Mexican rival Jr? **** numbers!

Canelo is a nobody outside of Mexico anr America and he's not even that big in America. Joshua is absolutely huge in the UK and is becoming big in America.

I don't like either of them by the way.

You're just being biased, here in the American continent and specially in Latin countries many, many people know who Saul Canelo Alvarez. AJ is not well known in by many casuals, remember he's currently fighting in Europe. Why wouldn't people from Europe not know who he is, same goes for Canelo he fights in North America and he's Latino.

Numbers don't lie and if you don't like them, don't call Americans or people from the US stupid. It doesn't help your case.

That's where you're wrong, PPV is only purchased in the US, Canada. I watched it for free in Space Channel and so did the rest of the Latin American countries. So if you are going by viewing audience, millions of Latin American countries watched it for free.

Your argument is moot since PPV is only purchased in the US and Canada, it was free in Mexico as well and going by this article over 40 mill people watched the fight in Mexico alone.

Canelo is way, way bigger than any active boxer in the Americas. NO, AJ is not huge or big in Latin America.

Outside of Europe and Americas, Joshua is more well known than Canelo.
    Asia - Joshua
    Africa - Joshua
    Oceania - Joshua

Do you think Canelo is more well known than Joshua in those places?

    Hold your horses.
Canelo might be the stronger draw but he has gone at it for a while now.
Joshua is definitely the more known in Europe and surrounding areas. And that is by a landslide.
But now the Americas, its a different story. The complete opposite, to be honest.
Its like comparing oranges to tomatoes.

I agree with you, Canelo has been on top longer and is better known. Here in the Americas (America, there's only one continent), Canelo is very well known. In Europe, well that's a different story but people saying that AJ is a bigger start then Canelo in the continent of America need to remove their fan glasses.

Yup, Canelo has Mexico, Chicanos, Latinos behind him.

Canelo is the biggest draw in boxing period, and he sells the most ppvs in boxing.

Revenue and popularity simply do not correlate. Especially when PPV prices are not the same.

Ps I paid £26.95 for the AJ fight, as I'm sure many people would have (this was the price if you booked over the phone). Which equates to $35.
