Personally i can see Joshua becoming a star in America. The Americans love a huge heavyweight that knocks people out. Obviously they would prefer it if that heavyweight was an American, but they'll just have to accept Joshua could be the new king of heavyweights and I think they'll enjoy that while it lasts.

I wouldn't know.. Do you know why? Because i don't really care..

That being said i cannot see Joshua being a sporting standout in Germany, Spain, Switzerland or France. GB? Yes obviously..

Canelo? Is fairly big (certainly in boxing terms) in the US & Mexico.. Latin America in general i suspect. Can't say the same for Joshua yet.. Not that i begrudge him that, good luck to him.

It's close they are 1 and 2 but Canelo is ahead.

I do think Joshua will surpass Canelo because he just arrived on the world scene and is already such a big star.

If you're getting your info from this forum then I would suggest to be better informed.

    1. People been saying boxing is dying for a long time. If it's dead in the US then answer the following question. Where have the biggest and highest money making fights happened in the last 5 years?
    2. NO, 1 mil PPV for $74.99 USD is not poor. That's $75 mil
    3. LOL, 1.7 mill PPV for $19.99 is not impressive. That's $34 mil

The big difference is that Joshua/Klitschko was a high profile HW title fight, whereas Canelo/Chavez wasn't and will end up generating more revenue.

I would advice you to do more research before posting so it doesn't make you seem biased.

Canelo is the bigger star at the momemnt, However since people in general are more easily hooked by heavyweight boxing I think in not such a long future Joshua will take the crown of biggest star in boxing.

If you ask somebody on the street outside of Americas who Canelo is they probably won't know.
Americas has 1 billion people in it, the rest of the world if 6 billion more.

Its not that hard to work out who the bigger star is now, its Joshua hands down.
Like even in America HBO had 50 reporters for the HW fight recently. That's JUST America.
There's no country in Europe who would think Canelo is a bigger name than Joshua. Whoever said that dosen't live in Europe, if you do I'd like to know what evidence you have to back up this claim...

As for the rest of the world, Hearn recently did an interview stating AJ would be boxing outside of the UK for his next bout and has talked to people from China, and the Middle East.
So, not only Africa know Joshua more, Asia does as well as the Middle East, plus Europe.

Canelo would have trouble selling out a stadium in Europe. Lets say he fought Jr in Europe. They are not selling out a 50k seater stadium. Joshua vs Pulev in Bulgaria would sell out any stadium in Europe. That is a fact, and it would be sold out in minutes.

Joshua is already known in Germany and Central Europe in general (we all have German channels available and could have watched that fight for free) due to knocking out Klitschko.

Joshua is also the face of boxing in Europe now, whenever someone thinks of boxing the first names to come up are Klitschko and Joshua.

People seriously underestimate how known Klitschko was in Europe and now Joshua took his place.

In Europe in the 00s it used to be like:
    cycling - Lance Armstrong
    golf - Tiger Woods
    tennis - Federer
    formula one - Schumacher
    boxing - Klitschko brothers
