Ridiculous poll result. What the **** has Bute accomplished to be considered as big a threat as Dawson?

I think Dawson has the best chance of beating Ward and in my opinion will beat him if he maintains his mental focus. Beating Hopkins is a huge scalp and mentally he had to be at the top of his game. In fact, anyone fighting Hopkins needs to be mentally tough, as he will find ways of getting in your head.

Theoretically, if you can mentally hold your own against one of the best boxers of mind games, then he should technically be fine for Ward.

I just think that he edges Ward in all departments. The mental side is the only thing that Ward has more of.....

Even if I thought Dawson would win, I said be before the fight how Pascal could trouble Dawson. That is exactly what he did and Dawson couldn't adjust.

I can't see no way Bute gets beat by Pascal.

On topic, on paper, Dawson is a bigger threat. I like his coach, he seems to be able to get the best in Dawson. Without that coach, I would have said Bute.

Chad Dawson but if he is horribly drained at 168 then it is Bute.

This poll should include a box for other. There are a few pretty handy looking up and coming super-middles. At least one of them will likely emerge as a threat to Ward within the next year or so.
SMW looks set to be one of the more entertaining divisions with all the unbeaten contenders coming through the ranks.

Ridiculous reasoning about poll result: this thread is not about accomplishments but about potential threat (i.e. subjective personal opinions about skills, style matchup, power and so on).

Dawson will be drained at 168, which is way I favour Bute. But at LHW I would go for Dawson. Bigger, stronger, very good on the outside, hard to bully on the inside (Hopkins tried). Bute is a solid champ, but I doubt he has any answer for Wards spoiling tactics.

Dawson barely won another Romanian, Adrian Diaconu. Diaconu was WBC champion but when he met Chad he was not in his prime.
And Bute is like one class over Diaconu!

You might change your opinion after Bute vs Froch. This guy is champion material! And when I say champion not only holding a belt.
But as I said Bute before didn't meet yet Elite Afro Americans. Miranda was second tier.

Actually, if Ward finally takes this fight at 168, we'll all know it will be a decently payed preparing warm-up for his more difficult fight against the top SMW southpaw, Bute. :hey

I think its a tough one. I am thinking maybe Dawson but Bute is definitely more explosive. Dawson, while way more well rounded, doesnt seem to have the killers instinct.
