he said he would like to have one last fight in cardiff but it would have to be the right fight,so i have been trying to weigh out his options,
he said he aint going to fight hopkins or kessler,he said he aint going to give froch a pay day, after being dropped first round in his last two fights i think he would avoid big punchers like cloud plus the cw division, he wont go back down to smw,and if he fought rjj he would be boo`ed off the ring.
so his options are dawson which i think is most likely, johnson, taylor at catch, erdei, garay and diaconu.who else do you think will be in the running?????or who do you think he should fight?????

Is it possible that he is waiting for Froch to up his value by defeating big name fighters, then face him...

Thats a good question. A lot to weigh up here.
I doubt after the abuse pre fight that Hopkins gets another shot, (Just to **** him off)
    RJJ is a BIG no-no.
Don't think another 12 rounds with Kessler will prove anything.
Taylor/Johnson are good possibilites, but we all know the outcome pre fight.

I would hope Dawson. He could be the next big thing for years to come. Young, hungry and It's a win/win for Joe.
If he wins and Dawson does in fact go on to become a brilliant fighter I hope people will look back and think 'What do you know, the guy had skills afterall'.
If he loses people should give him cudos for passing the torch.

Joe's legacy could be measured by Dawson's future with both scenarios.
I'm big on passing the torch, Dawson.

I heard a rumour this morning that he will have one last fight and it's going to be Hopkins rematch.

What everyone has to remember about Dawson is that he is fighting Tarver first, so Calzaghe will have to wait a while to fight him, unless he can get out of the fight. So in that regard I do not believe Calzaghe will want to wait. So then that leaves three options for me Johnson, Taylor and Winky, Joe will want to fight an American as he can make more money and so the fight will be bigger in the states and I cannot see him giving B-Hop a rematch. Although, saying this I think if Calzaghe does fight again in 2009, he might fight twice, so if he does fight one of Johnson, Winky or Taylor then he might go on to fight the winner of Dawson v Tarver II.

I hope Calzaghe chooses either Dawson or Hopkins, 'cause these are the fight he needs to take, imho.

I like to see him take Dawson to school! he just beat two "old legends" let him take a young lion like Dawson aswell! then he could retire, and nobody would make excuses.. like Jones was shot, Hopkins was to old that night!

A Hopkins rematch would be lucrative

The problem is dawson has a fight coming up.That means if they did fight it would be in the second half of the year.Is calzaghe willing to wait that long?

Agree. I'd love it to be Dawson but as far as a payday goes no-one even comes close to what Hopkins generates.
