Tarver defeated Jones twice and both fighters are past their primes now

I can see Calzaghe having an easier time in beating RJJ right now than Tarver

At this point of their careers, if Calzaghe chooses to fight one of these guys, who will be the best name to have on his resume when he retires later this year. Although RJJ would sound much better, people will still look back and say that Jones was washed up..while Tarver doesnt seem to be as shot.

    what do you ppl think

exactly rjj is a name while tarver is a very live body!

tarver looked great against woods and in honesty i can see calzaghe beating him easier than rjj.tarver for me shot up the lhw rankings last week ahead of dawson also.tarver's stamina is **** and against woods he seemed apprehensive to look for a big shot which would suit calzaghe to the ground.

looking back on 20 years people might recognise rjj's name a bit better but in honesty tarver has proven himself to be a much more live body than rjj is at the minute.

I think the way boxing fans are if he beats eather one they wont care because they will just say both are shells (even though Tarver just beat woods) so at this point id say neather but if your forcing me to choose ill say tarver BECAUSE

Tarver beat jones in their last fight, and since then roy has done nothing significant and at least tarver has beat woods.

The better name is obviously roy, but if were dealing in what win actually holds more weight in THIS moment, its tarver, and not by much... more by default.

I think pavlik is the best option right now. He's prime, he's undefeated, he's a legit champion. Does much more for Calzaghe's legacy.

Neither is worth much of a damn at this point, although I was surprised how good Tarver looked against Woods, so who knows (by "good" I just mean that compared to his previous two fights in which he looked totally shot). I really hope Calzaghe fights Roy though b/c that would be the easiest money in the world. I'd prolly bet half, maybe ALL of my Bodog account. Hehehe. Jones. LMFAO!

Tarver has the belt. Jones could probably make him more money though.

Tarver is better at this stage, therefore, a dominant win over him would be better than a dominant win over Jones.

Jones. Easier fight, bigger name. 30 years from now, people won't remember how washed up he was.

6 months, it's becoming a trend for people to get so heated against Amsterdam in debate's due to my posting style that they throw out 6 month ban and avatar bet offers left and right, one idiot even throwing a lifetime ban bet that he can't win.

In the history of ESB I have lost two bets. A 1 month ban bet for Diaz-Freitas and an avatar bet against Teke when I was hating on Mundine.

I've won about 15, keep them coming guys!:D

I have the most forum pride for saying that I'd leave for 6 months if Mayweather didn't KO Hatton, didn't bet with anybody, just put something on the line to back up my stance.:yep

Jones vs Calzaghe will be a very entertaining fight .After watching Tarver's fight with Woods I would hate to see a Tarver Calzaghe fight ..Tarver Pavlik would be more entertaining due to their styles ..
