I am asking this question since we are all thinking about Hector and his career and life recently and Miguel lost last night. Who was the better fighter?

Camacho... Better speed and ring smarts too. Camacho at 135 had pop in his fist too. Had he taken his career more seriously, he could have achieved much more.

Bad moment to make the question, but regardless of the moment Camacho is better.

Camacho had a helluva lot more talent, but Cotto got more out of what he had.

But regardless of Cotto getting more out of what he had, P4P he was never as good as the 130-135 Camacho.

Had Camacho had stayed at 130 longer, he could have been one of the best ever at that weight. He was that good. Quicker than Mayweather with blinding combinations. He speed gave him a lot of power at that weight. He had much more skill and potential than Cotto.

    Agreed on all points.

And it would be a great fight.

Its like comparing a Corvette with a Ford F150. Corvette is faster and much more flashy but the F150 is rugged and reliable.

    Cotto wasn't rugged or reliable.

Camacho was NOT just flash either. KHAN is just flash! Camacho had legitimately rare talent and skills.

Your out of your mind if you think the circumstances matter. Its not close by a long shot. If they were able to fight Cotto would not even be one of the better names on Camacho's resume.

Agreed Camacho isn't just flash but when faced with a Greg Haugen who knew how to offset the speed advantage, Camacho had problems. Camacho lost his nerve after facing Rosario also.

Cotto took hard shots from fighters like Zab and willed himself to victory.

    Camacho had higher quality wins.

Camacho in this hands down. What time is it?
