San Rafael and Benny Blanco.....you guys are making a lot of common sense. Can you guys share some of that with Eze and Neckbreakinakin? They can really use some.
I can't seperate the two of them. Cotto has better skills, but JLC was hard as nails (excpect when he was getting KO'd with a Hatton bodyshot )
Cotto. Cotto is still young and his resume is damned good already. Castillo was competitive in his prime with any or everybody. Floyd and camp underestimated him and his subtle skills. But he is not far behind Cotto.
Man its sort of disrespectful, honestly. Castillo atm is better, imo. But Cotto is still young. Castillo's resume is better than Cotto's, imo. Cotto has Margo who he lost to and Judah and Mosley. Mosley is old, wasn't completely shot or anything, but he obviously was not in his prime, but still good enough to give a good fight. Good victory. I would say the Judah fight was good, but I mean after all the BS that people gave about Floyd beating him, it made me think, if people are going to take away the victory of Floyd over him, then why should Cotto's be seen as spectular? When Floyd already mopped the floor with the guy? The Same for Chop Chop, which wasnt really a good victory because he got a gift stoppage, when Chop Chop was doing pretty good. Castillo on the other hand beat Stevie Johston who was a superb boxer and is really underrated. He beat him twice, beat a primer Casa, beat a prime Correlas (first having a extreme war first), beating a few other fighters AND then argubly beating Mayweather (it was a close fight, I felt floyd won it, but hey I can see Castillo getting it). IMO Cotto atm doesn't get with this. He was just more high profile coming up the easy way, Olympaid fighter, herald the newest rican boxer to take tito's place... etc. And fighting on HBO basically right out of the amatures. Castillo was fanatic. I don't care what anyone says. He foguth prime guys and beat them. Nothing Cotto has done, imo, gets with this fact. But Cotto is young, he can bypass him, he has the skill. But lets see how he is after that devestating defeat to margo.
he beat steveie one time the second fight was a draw . call it like it was castillo came up short against floyd twice no shame inn that and their is no arguing the record books. I agree cotto is too pampered, and his boxing iq is low. I picked castillo based on his stronger resume.
there is still the best to come from cotto so this debate is a little premature, but for sure at mo castilo
I'm going with Castillo. He's the only fighter that came close to beating Mayweather, and arguably did. People forget that the biggest fighters on Cotto's list are old versions of Zab Judah and Shane Mosley. At 140, Cotto didn't stand a single solitary chance of beating Mayweather.
