Who is boxing's worst referee?

I'm not exactly comfortable picking two Brits. But when you're a realist.... well.

 

There is a phrase that the best referee is the one you don't notice.

As for the worst refs, I think that Laurence Cole has done one of the worst ref jobs in recent memory. It was just disgusting and that guy surely shouldn't be allowed to ref ever again (unfortunately, that's not how the things work in pro boxing).

Get Smoger off that list. Smoger is excellent.

 

There are more bad refs than good ones.

its an easy question.... There are two referees , now retired thank the Good Lord, named Richard Steele and Joe Cortez. Both these monstrosities should have been jailed never mind just fired for some of their horrendous officiating

 

Laurence Cole. He has the "best" package of all the negative qualities listed in the first post and he displays them on a depressingly consistent basis.

There should be only one name on that list, Arthur Mercane jr., although, thank Heavens, I haven't seen that jackass referee a fight in a long time.
