Bute has been knocked out. Explain. Dawson would never have been out on his feet against Andrade like Bute was. Dawson beat Adamek a much much better fighter then Andrade with room to spare. He fights far better off of the ropes then Bute does, who even in his victory over Andrade was still catching hard punches. What a silly statement. Again who has Bute beaten that would make you think this? Dawson earned Adameks respect with his power in the ring, who has Bute beaten thats world class of the level of Tarver, Johnson or Adamek that makes you think he's more powerful? Stopping human punching bag Andrade? Bute if he fights Dawson would get the breaks beaten off of him. He's not nearly as good defensively, and Dawson has every advantage in size and speed. It wont be close. Bute has the body of a light heavyweight but the arms of a welter.
Oh yeah Bernard Hopkins. That garbage cat. Kessler beat Andrade more impressively then Bute did who was actually knocked out. I think Dawson has the edge in terms of who beat their opponents better. Johnson is still an elite fighter in the division. Tarver at the time held a belt. How do you get less live? Zuniga and Andrade?
You have a point but I did mention some lower weight guys. Vic D, Calderon, Donaire, Gamboa and John come to mind.
But if you also notice, Dawson did nothing to capitilze on his punch, and Bute isn't a guy who rushes in like Adamek. Bute will take a more measured approach. I don't think he will win, but I don't think he'll get knocked out either. Dawson won't take the risk.
You can't do a p4p list that is as biased to skill and athleticism as all that. Intangibles are hugely important in boxing. Dawson is very skilled and a great athlete, but he's no Mayweather and he never will be. He just doesn't have the brains, man. You need to consider the whole package when doing a p4p list - everything that is relevant to making a great fighter.
I see you still have your "hidden" agenda. Vomitting on Bute to make your guy look better. It's bad to hate a boxer when you're a boxing fan. :nono
Dawson does take risk when need be. Look at the guys he's been fighting. Johnson iron chin and Tarver iron chin. Just because you don't drop or stop your opponent doesn't mean you don't take risks.:deal I highly doubt Bute would stop either Johnson or Tarver.
Its not hate. Its facts. Tarver, Adamek and Johnson are far and away more impressive then anything on Butes resume. What do you think Adamek would do to a guy like Andrade?
You're making a pretty broad assumption considering Dawson isn't the type of opponent who goes for stoppages. And I agree that Bute would not stop Tarver, could, but probably would not stop Johnson either. In fact, I'm not sure Bute wins the fight against Tarver, let alone Dawson, who I'm pretty sure would beat him. So yes, Dawson would win, but I doubt that given Bute's style and Dawson's style, it would be by KO.
Dawson IMO is one of the best boxers in the world today. He's has the complete package along with impressive wins. A blind man can see how good he is.
here is my p4p list, ranking these boxers from best to worst and nothing else. 1. Pac 2. PBF 3. JMM (@ 135, not if he campaigns @ 140 and definately not @147) 4. Mosley 5. Ward 6. Dawson 7 Vitali 8. Donaire 9. Williams 10. Wlad 11. Cotto (if he campaigns @ 147) 12. Bute 13. Sergio Martinez 14. Hopkins 15. Chris John 16. Guillermo Rigondeaux 17. Tim Bradley 18. JuanMa Lopez 19. David Haye 20. Yuriorkis Gamboa just missed the cut: Devon Alexander, Mikkel Kessler and Amir Khan Its really hard to make a list like this cause rather than just rank them by past accomplishments, you have to make a bunch of what-if scenarios and try to figure out if weight wasn't an issue and everyone was fighting everyone who would have the best overall record.
Notice that none of these clowns have posted their top 10 P4P. Probably look like this 1. Pacquiao 2. Joe Calzaghe 3. Mikkel Kessler 4. Arthur Abraham 5. Carl Froch 6. Lucian Bute 7. err....Carl Froch 8. Tomas Adamek 9. This content is protected This content is protected
