Sorry guys, I'm not saying Ward was bad, he did what he had to do, but he far from impress me in this fight. There's a lot of thread about this fight, but most of them (rightly i guess) are about how Green did nothing. But I wish to read what you guys think of Ward in this situation?
until the injury yea. i know that's jsut an excuse. But you can't deny he looked alot better before that shoulder injury than after even in the fights he won. Anyways I'm not off the Linares bandwagon yet. Linares has beaten better fighters than the one he lost to. He can maybe still get back to top form. Juarez will be a stiff test.
It takes two to tango. Ward did what he had to do. He shut out Green and Green let Ward back him up. What's Ward supposed to do not push him back and beat the hell out of him?
i'm getting more over ward every time he fights. i appreciate the guy, but i'm just really getting over his style of fighting. it just isn't entertaining at all. he could easily be as entertaining as he wants with his skill-set, but he doesn't want to take punishment or risk losing a round. he has PBF syndrome.
I don't think Ward is superstar material despite his obvious talents. His style isn't very entertaining. Srry it just isn't and I could never see myself as a fan of the guy although I respect his abilities. Kirkland, Bute and even Lemieux have far greater mainstream appeal for the regular guy on the street.
I dont think anyone can impress in every single fight. Ward did what he had to and won thats it. I thought he was impressive in the Pantera fight and against Kessler. Sometimes it takes 2 fighters to make it exciting and only 1 to make it boring.
