with the impending fight between the two biggest draw in boxing right now, there are some talks about what are the advantages of each fighter over one another never mind if this is a crazy event for you. we all know that de la hoya should be the stronger fighter between the two because of size. how about the speed factor? who do you think has the upper-hand on this department?

If they fight at 150lbs or even 147 i would think the edge in speed will go to DLH.

Think about it DLH will be able to open up without the fear of being immediatley hurt or ko'd. Pac on the other hand will be hurt if hit.

This is a big miss match in my eyes a Pac v Hatton fight would be more competitive, but you have to give all the credit in the world to Pac.

    Predictable response.

I would agree with Hatesrats, prime for prime DLH, nowadays Pac.

you have a point here but roach said that if this fight would happen, he would let pac at 140 during weigh-in and rehydrate to around 145-147 where he is always at when he fights at 130/135. if roach let pac in at a higher weight so that he can have more punch resistance, pac would certainly slow down but i could not see it to the point that he would be slower than oscar.

Pacquiao, and I don't see how it's even close. In his prime De La Hoya had excellent speed (still not as fast as Pac though), now it's an even wider margin. Pacquiao may have the fastest hands in boxing (although every time I watch Gamboa I seem to think differently), something Oscar never had, and certainly doesn't have now. I'd favor DLH due to the size difference, but I honestly believe Pac has a good chance here. It' a good move for Pac too. He'll get the most money he can possibly make, and if he loses, almost everyone will see the size difference as the reason, therefore it will likely have no affect on his P4P ranking. And if he pulls off the win then it will be the biggest accomplishment on his resume.

Right now it would have to be Pac.. Even moving up to 135, he's still quick as ever.. If Oscar was in his prime? I dunno'.. It'd be close..

obviously Pac is faster right now, prime - prime, its pretty much even. . . adjusting for size.
