In most of the sports I think the sports debate is settled while MMA is one of the few sports where G.O.A.T debt is still going on and in many forums and sites I checked they came up with different sportsperson. Please share your opinion on this.

The vast majority of people state that Fedor is the goat of mma and I agree with them.

Three very good names. I'm inclined to agree.

Prime Fedor was simply unstoppable. You kind of had to have been around at the time to see what a machine this guy was. I remember the Heath Herring fight, his first big break iirc. I was like "aahh they brought in a can so that Herring could have a soft touch before the Nogueira showdown". And to be fair Fedor, while powerfully built in his upper body was kinda pudgy around the waist. He looked calm and expressionless. Honestly if somebody told me he was a cabbage farmer I'd have said yeah, looks about right. But once he started in the ring JFC stand back.

Hes a POS outside of the cage, but tbh I think Jones has solidified himself over the other GOAT contenders now. Anderson and Fedor didnt have the same overall quality of opposition. Fedor burned out pretty early, Anderson has multiple losses pre UFC. GSP had probably a better level of opposition than Jones but then he did get stopped twice in the first round and dipped out early.

So yeah, level of opposition + length and extent of domination = its that POS Jon Jones.

Jones is a roided overhype who's been given victories over lost fights and also got the referees' support. This crap should stay away from any kind of greatness rankings. We now also know he is a coward, avoiding Ngannou.

    Fedor fought great opposition.

Anderson Silva, once he got busted with PEDs and stopped them, he went on a big losing streak. This man was good, but not any great.

You're bringing up PEDs but the one that didnt get caught (Fedor) was dominating in a promotion that was pretty much a Yakuza run circus notorious for having basically no drug testing, where several of the top fighters (including Fedor himself) seemed to decline very quickly after Pride and at a young age. Dont get me wrong, I loved Pride and Fedor but it is what it is.

As for Fedor fighting great opposition, do you think Nog x2, Cro Cop, Arlovski, Tim, Hunt, Randelman, Semmy, Herring, Coleman x2, Brett Rogers are better wins than DCx2, Gus, Gane, Glover, Vitor, Shogun, Machida, Rampage, Rashad, Bader, Chael? bearing in mind i'm not even including Jones's contentious victories ie Gus 1 or the Santos and Reyes fights. And Fedor had a lot more competitive fights and fights where he took damage even in victory than Jones has.

Fedors was never caught with PEDs. Probably he used, I always say they all use, but in PRIDE it was equal for everybody, while Jones got busted with PEDs twice, yet never banned for life. He was constantly eye poking, but never sanctioned for that. He lost a few fights and was still given a victory. Finally, he had brown pants for facing Ngannou. What a greatness!

Primes I reckon Cro Cop, Nogueira would have beaten him and guys like Randleman and Coleman would have given him all he could handle too.

With the amount of training Fedor did, PEDs would have transformed him into a muscleman like they did for some of the more hulky dudes walking around at the time. I don't believe it.

You are right. I wasn't accusing him, I was just assuming. But then, he performed even greater by smashing opponents who were on PEDs.

You think 90s relic Randleman who was 15-8 at the time he fought Fedor, with stoppage losses to Chuck, Randy and Rampage. And another 90s relic in 40 something Mark Coleman, who was 13-5 and 15-7 when he fought Fedor, with losses to guys like Maurice Smith and ****ing Petey Williams, would have given DC all he could handle? how? are they gonna outwrestle him? or keep it standing and outstrike him?

Nog was looking like a bum against Frank Mir at the grand old age of 32 and losing to 46 year old Randy the year after that.

Cro Cop got KTFO in the first round by Gonzaga then lost to journeyman Cheick Kongo within 2 years of the Fedor fight, neither of them were anything special. And of course also managed to get himself knocked out cold by a 5'9 wrestler with extremely crude striking, but you cant see him losing to a bigger stronger wrestler with better striking, more power and a better chin? I think stylistically Cro Cop may well have lost to Gane too as it would have been a pure stand up fight.

You're accusing Jones of ducking Ngannou when Fedor ducked an entire promotion for years, and even outside of the UFC there were multiple major fights people wanted that never happened. Didnt fight Reem in either his first or second fight in Strikeforce even though Reem was the champ at the time and Fedor was the consensus best HW on the planet. He did admittedly sign to fight Barnett in Affliction but it fell through. Didnt fight Kharitanov. There was a window where he could have fought Randy too iirc but it didnt materialise.

As for judges decisions going his way when they probably shouldnt have, I agree, but Fedor was gifted a decision over ****ing Fabio Maldonado lol.
