I think Castillo shades because of the first Mayweather fight.

I would have said Margarito before the handwrap incident. I think he was a more solid champion.

It's close. I reckon you could argue for either man. For me JLC was the best lightweight of his era, bar the short period of time when Mayweather passed through the division. Margarito has fought in a quality welterweight era and has always been up there at the top, for years though.

    I'll side with JLC just.

**** i was such a big fan of Margarito before the incident, my fave fighter for a good while,

The wraps debacle will always be held against Margo. His legacy has taken a serious dent. Even though you could argue that Castillo refusing to make weight is cheating just as much as questionable wraps, i think history will still hold castillo in higher regard.

This is very relative. It depends on what you are looking for. Castillo had some epic fights. Check his record very carefully. His most important fights were Floyd, Chico, and Johnston. He had nothing left by the time he fought Hatton. And the true fact is he lost most of his important fights. He looked great against Floyd .

Margarito have a good record. Some wins and some losts against big guys. But he got caught cheating. So, he is kind of ****ED!!!
    I go with Castillo.

castillo for me i dont think its close either. Johnson, Corrales, Lazcano, Casamayor and two close fights with floyd. I think Castillo is a great fighter and is very underated.
