They both had good careers, and sometimes Hopkins says the STUPIDEST things, but Joe loses a lot of credibility due to some of the jewels that have come out of his mouth. For example:"I could probably give Jones a tough fight, probably the best fight he's ever had',said Calzaghe,'But I know my capabilities and unless I got paid the crown jewels,I wouldn't want to risk it.' from www.THISISLONDON.co.uk/SPORT/ARTICLE-5499540-DETAILS/I+AM+THE+BEST,+SAYS+HONEST+JOE+/ARTICLE.DO. Or the DAILY MIRROR,June 1,1999:"I'm not chasing after Roy Jones.Be honest,Roy is a good fighter and I don't want tough fights.I just want big money." Later in his career,Joe came out with his autobiography,"No Ordinary Joe" by himself and Brian Doogan, published in 2007.Page 300:"I have no interest in Roy Jones and no interest in Antonio Tarver.Jones is washed up and Tarver was just never that good anyway,he just caught Jones when Jones was shot and Johnson did the same."Later in the book, about Jones,"I would never want to fight him now. He's not the same fighter and I'd have nothing to gain beating the shadow of what he once was."He then goes on to call him a legend.Funny how when Joe just changed his mind and told everyone that Jones was still great when the 2 of them decided to mix it up and promote their fight in the Garden.Oh,I forgot this one: Youtube.com/watch?v=AWDtzdAYTOA.Calzaghe is very good at lying when it suits him.I am still angry at myself because I used to be a fan.

Both very talented but I think history will be kinder to Hopkins as he was involved in more anticipated superfights and was always competitive to my knowledge.

Interesting put, because Hopkins lost TWICE to Jermaine Taylor a couple of years before he and JC fought. And we all know how good Taylor is.By the way, this is what the BBC reported and what Calzaghe said before their fight:"Joe Calzaghe is convinced age will be a overriding factor when he meets Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas. At 36,Calzaghe,who fights Hopkins on Sunday morning,is 7 years younger than his opponent."'The guy is 43 years old-he's not the bionic man,he's human',Calzaghe told BBC Sport.

When exactly did Calzaghe smash Hopkins? I know he beat him, but smashed? Hopkins never got smashed. Of course someone with the name Anglosaxon would bring race into it. As far as I'm concerned, they are pretty close in the greatness department. I would lean towards Hopkins in an all-time pound for pound sense. It has nothing to do with him being black American. I am a white American and couldn't give two sh*ts where Joe is from, he is an all-time great.

Someone with a middle eastern name would cry racism:roll:

Fact is, Americans are biased towards blacks, look at Obama, useless president, barely any politicla experience, yet he is meant to be the new messiah.

Calzageh busted Hopkins up for 9 of the 12rounds and nearly Ko'ed him in round 10 till Cortez saved his buddy like he always does.

Calzaghe has way better wins and has no defeats.

The thing about Calzaghe is,had he lost in one of his "big" fights, many of his English supporters would have said,"What do you want from a coal miner?",or something along those lines. And you Cymru ones or even Scottish lads know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

Because he proved that so decisively, didn't he?

Because Trinidad, DLH, Tarver, Pavlik, Winky, Johnson are so much worse than Lacy and Kessler?
