it's Hearns by a fuking mile you ******. his win over Benitez is five times better than anything on mayweather's resume
I voted for floyd. he just fought with the exception of hagler, lenord & duran better guys. also comes his undefeated record in it, floyd resume is just mind blowing considering he boxed guys often bigger, taller and stronger than him: hernandes, coralles, castillo, hoya and cotto.... overall his boxing technic was also better, he can outbox, outsmart you and his offence isnt shaby either.
Hearns body of work and accomplishments at this time i have him higher than FLoyd but i think Floyd if he closes well with these next couple fights can pass him so i think they are close enough.
Honestly, if you could replace Tommy's China Chin with Hagler's beard, we might well be talking about Hearns as the GOAT instead of Robinson. Hearns was an absolute monster with a body perfectly built for fighting in every conceivable way EXCEPT for his Glass Jaw.
duran was 100 years away from his prime. duran was an lightweight, he had nothing to do at middleweight. sure hearns was an monster physicly. but do we talk p4p, which means, same size, same weight ? p4p sense - floyd > hearns middleweight hearns vs welterweight mayweather, who would win...
Perfect illustration of the importance of having a Chin. See, it cost Hearns around 30 places on an ATG list, all alone. Incredible. :deal Picking Hearns - awesome as he was - over Robinson in a H2H match-up is completely inconceivable to me. Robinson was not stopped in 200 fights, save for a heat stroke in a fight he was dominating thoroughly. Hearns would get his thin vest caved in and then chin shattered. Leonard is a featherfist compared to Robby. He needn't come drained nor taken into the deep rounds.
IMO, this is a no brainer... I say Hearns, Style was better to watch fights were always exciting & let's face it The prototype of what a fighter should be.
I agree wholeheartedly, but imagine Hearns with an Iron Chin. An Iron Chinned Hearns versus Robinson would have been one for the ages. However, that is "coulda, woulda, shoulda" stuff which is the realm of delusional fanboys and the truth is, Robinson would have brutally KOed Hearns in what would have been a good fight until Tommy got starched.
Are you a Floyd fan in disguise? Hearns has won many big fights and both Leonard and Hagler are surperior fighters to Mayweather, both H2H and in P4P ranking.
I think that his thin legs and body is the reason why he didn't take power shots very well.. A 6"1½" 147 pounder doesn't have much weight per square cm to take the punches.. Guys like Hagler and Holyfield were pretty bulky, where Hearns was very thin.. Also a guy like Vitali Klitschko has a huge square formed jaw, where Hearns' chin is rather thin too.. If Hearns should have had top tier punch resistance @147, then he should be more like 5"9" and give up his reach and some of his speed, he would also lose alot of his ability to bring leverage on his punches (which probably was Hearns' biggest strength), given that he wouldn't have his huge lean frame to put behind his fists..
