Who is Greater: Hearns or Mayweather?

you are a young man this shows. Nothing wrong with that, but you cannot make proper analyze of fighters of the past if you just see the quality of fighters now. There are a lot of guys in their 20s on ESB who think they know boxing because they think Pacman or Floyd is greater than everyone else. In 20 years they will be put in perspective and their opponents will also. As for Corrales? Cuevas is 5 times the win Corrales is. Corrales is in the Hall of Fame or will get in? No. Hill is a better win than Mosley. Hill was undefeated and lightheavyweight with 10 title defenses. Mosley when Floyd beat him was better than Hill? Just on those alone Hearns wins the list. Had Floyd beaten the Mosley of 2001 I might say different. The fact that you have to bend your list and make claims that Mosley and Corrales were better when he fought them than Hill and Cuevas when Tommy fought them, shows how Floyd fans bend his boxing record to help his legacy.

 

I knew he could lose to Barkley. Barkley was a free swinging guy who swings as he is getting hit. Not many guys do that, and Tommy swings and likes to go for knockouts. No one confuses Barkley with a HOF fighter, and certainly that win does not diminish Thomas Hearns much. Tommy fought the best. Floyd has never been hit the way Thomas has to really see how good his chin is. He does not put it all on the line. That is why Thomas Hearns will always be remembered more than Floyd. in 20-30 years Hearns will be talked about and Floyd will not. He put his heart on the line and he fought everyone.

 

I am not kissing Pipino's ass, I am just saying to compare him to Ortiz or Judah is not accurate. I said he was not Hearns or Duran or Leonard, but he was top notch and HOF. 12 title defenses is not easy to do. And Corrales to Cuevas.. Mosley when he fought Mayweather to when Hill was in his prime with 10 titles defenses. You are bending things for the argument, but those statements do not stand well.

 

Hearns fought I think the number is 21 former or present world champions. That is a list of bums. It isn't my fault Floyd hasn't fought anyone, and insulting Tommy resume will not make Floyd's better. Tommy will always be remembered in history and Floyd will be forgotten. It is Floyd's fault. Not Tommys. He put his all into his career and so did Duran, Leonard and Hagler. They didn't always win, but they came to fight and fought them all. That is why they will be remembered..

 

Take away Tommy' wins over Cuevas,Hill. Benitez and Duran? Yeah lets take away Ali's wins over Frazier,Foreman and Liston and where do we have him? Take away Duran and Hearns and Hagler from Ray's resume. I think you are answering what we want out of Floyd. We want 2 or 3 great wins out of him like the other guys had. And he doesn't have them. He handpicks. He has to fight Pacman. Saying he beat Corrales or an old Mosley or Delahoya will not give him much of a legacy. Tyson beat Holmes and Spinks. No one really says he is as great as they are. Holmes beat Ali.

 

I liked Diego as a fighter, a lot of spirit, but let's be honest. He was a decent fighter with a weak chin and a propensity to brawl. He was not a great fighter. He will not be Hall of Fame. He lost to Clottey in his last fight lost to Casamayor. 2 times
He was an exciting fighter and had a great fighting spirit, but he was not great.not a great champion really. A good champion. Are we going to be honest here or just make up things?

 

I don't have to even look. Corrales will not make the Hall of Fame. Cuevas did make it.
