Duran's optimal weight was at Lightweight, if you have trouble understanding this then take up golf. Nothing further to add.

He was an all-time great already for his victories over De Jesus and Ken Bunchanan, displaying a ridiculous level of dominance at 135, seeing off every worthy contender there was throughout the 70s. The Leonard victory, coupled with what he achieved at 154 and 160 only further cements his place among the top 5 or top 10 (its peoples opinions, afterall) fighters that ever graced the ring. It wasn't just the wins, it was the longevity, the dominance at Lightweight, the way in which he handled naturally bigger fighters and of course, the different dimensions to his skill set.

Stop asking the same questions, and please, for your own sake, don't question that Ray Leonard was an established Welterweight by the time of the first Duran fight. It makes no sense, all of his victories say otherwise.
