I think Hop said he's got to fight Dawson next, and then he wants Bute.

    I remember that.

Prime drugged up Hopkins couldn't beat a shot Joe Cazlaghe even with a 1 KD headstart gifted to him in the first round.

In every aspect but ability, B-Hop is the victor.

My pleasure ;) (Super no homo)

Fwiw, I've also got Hopkins beating Dawson pretty comfortably

I was hoping for Hopkins to fight Dawson next but in all honesty I wouldn't mind him just to wait and fight the winner of Ward v Froch. I think he could beat both to be fair, the fact we think he can beat top fighters at the age of 46 is CRAZY! and is a credit to his dedication and ability. Long Live B-HOP!!!

Back to thread, Roy is the better fighter h2h no doubt in my mind, better legacy goes to b-hop due to the fact he's beat the better fighters and never avoided anyone.

Roy never avoided anyone IMO. 'Tiger' was decent, but no biggie that Roy didn't fight him.

Roys best wins all came early in his career..namely Hopkins and Toney.

DM beat Hill before RJJ and was the lineal and unified champion and the only meaningful fight at the weight. He wasted too much time at LHW collecting and holding onto belts rather than seeking out challenges to enhance his legacy. He could have won a belt at cruiser...there were some very strong unbeaten champs at the time in Juan Carlos Gomez and Jirov. Hell Calzaghe was calling him out...but he was a small fish prior to 2006 (in the americans eyes at least).

Roys prime was clearly a much shorter time span compared to Hopkins and too much of it was wasted.

I think the Ruiz win was too little too late and clearly a hand picked smash and grab job on one of the worst HW belt holders in history.

Hopkins seeks out the big challenges and the no1 fighters of their respective weight classes....something Roy didnt do in the 2nd half of his career and thats why his resume is now inferior to Bernards.

I find this pretty hard to disagree with. Both Roy and Dariusz weren't willing to travel IIRC. Roy travelled East yesterday though :patsch

Hopkins ducked Joe Calzaghe in 2001.

    He lost to Jermain Taylor

His biggest wins were against welterweights

He has an addiction to PEDs

Hopkins vs Eastman as a spectacle

I doubt he'll get in the ring with Dawson but we'll see

Why's that? Dawson is inherently flawed.

    1. So was Taylor
    2. He's already ducked Dawson, too much speed, too much range. The only reason Hopkins may now fancy it could be Chad's Pascal showing, which is misleading

Like when he turned down career high paydays to face RJJ and Calzaghe when both were prime?
