Who is greater? Willie Pep or Benny Leonard?

    Agree...at the same time fighters like Basillio, Paul Pender and even the great Angelo Dundee have remarked that Willie Pep was the best boxer they ever saw including Robinson.

    Willie Pep also dominated the Featherweight Division. Pep took the World Title back from the great Sandy Saddler probably past his best days even surviving the airplane crash.

    Its the only thing that separates them IMV. Both are 1st tier alltime greats.

    ETM, that's just my point. Willie Pep was a greater boxer than Ray Robinson, but does that make Willie a more formidable fighter than Robinson ? No, because Robby could HIT so much harder than Pep did and so did the great Benny Leonard hit much harder than Pep did, whilst Benny was also a great classic boxer and supreme thinker in the ring...

    Leonard certainly had another dimension with his punching power. No dispute.
