For me Tito, no questions ask... The fact that he had the balls to go against anyone no matter what and even as an underdog... forget about it... Joe's best win against a "real" threat was Kessler. We all had our doubts against B-Hop and definately RJJ.

I really am surprised that the vote is so close. Tito won more world titles, won more world titles in different weight divisions, and has a stronger resume. For me those three factors have to seal the deal. Who was better h2h at their own weight/who had the greater ability - now there's a serious debate. But in terms of all-time p4p greatness, I believe it's pretty clear in Tito's favour.

Calzaghe was a clear winner in that fight. I can't see how anyone could have scored it to Reid. It was damn competitive, but Joe had the edge clearly IMO.

I think I need to go back to the drawing board with 'how to score a fight' then :D I tend to get a lot of 'draws'.

where is the timeliness element when your resume doesn't reflect a top 20 all-time best WW ever? he would only be timeless in puerto rico..but hey, benitez once held that distinction, but tito takes it away from him

    Robinson Leonard
    Armstrong Walcott
    Gavilan Hearns
    Napoles Walker
    Ross Griffith
    Britton Lewis
    Benitez Duran
    Williams Burley
    Ryan Basilio
    Whitaker Mcclarin

i rank tito higher than JC today...but i would not be surprise if i changes may rankings overtime.. who knows, calzaghe may escalate his rankings in 100 years time..that is also the same reason that no matter how bad the resume(opponents) of galaxy, he is still in the top 100 ATG ;up to now, he is the best 115 pounder and not tapia...although i favor tapia head to head.that same thing when i starting to notice how good el finito was. he is in the same league sa zarate...before i used to think that he is just like dela hoya or morales...

before in the 1970s, people still consider joe louis as the best HW, but look at how Ali escalate in the rankings over time..

Calzaghe by a long shot. he fought loads of fighters in their prime and who were undefeated and whats more he never lost whilst doing it. tito is a brilliant boxer but he is certainly no joe calzaghe. tito got beat by as you calla washed up roy jones!

If chris Eubank would not have almost killed Michael Watson in the ring he would have gone on to be one of the best fighters in history, Chris Eubank was one of the best and most dengerous fighters the world has ever seen.

its close , a lot of people on esb do not like calzaghe , so downplay his abilty and all his opponents out of hand.

IMO trinidad fought b and c level fighters of a higher quality than calzaghe did.

trinidad`s best wins from memory IMO were
    oba carr
    vargas
    dlh
    whitiker

he beat decent fighters like campas/joppy/camacho

lost to vgc in jones/hopkins/wright at a higher weight class than his body frame could cope with.

    calzaghe best wins are
    hopkins
    kessler
    eubank
    reid

    beat decent fighters like
    lacy/woodhall/jones/brewer/bika

both had many stocking fillers ,as i said calzaghe`s padding was much easier than trinidad`s padding on paper.

IMO it is close and not much in it and could be argued either way, by those that take all time lists seriously.

Calzaghe for me in this one. Trinidad went up more weight classes, but that's not entirely what P4P is about. P4P to me is having the best skillset so that if weight and size were not an issue who would win. This is why SRR is considered so good, in that his skillset would allow him to beat pretty much anyone of equal stature.

In that sense Calzaghe has a better skillset to say that if weight and size were no issue he'd surely be better P4P? Trinidad was a vicious puncher, but had an average chin, but a good skillset. Calzaghe however is a level above, he can neutralise his foe's best weapons just as Hopkins did to Trinidad when they met. In a P4P sense Trinidad only has his power over JC in my opinion, he loses out in pretty much every other way. Workrate, stamina (similar to workrate, but not the same), chin, ability to recuperate, speed, defense, angles, footwork, combination punching, ring generalship... etc etc...

    agree:good with your definition

but people here define p4p as almost purely accomplishment..
we have the same definition of all-time p4p...

still, i think tito is higher in terms of ATG and would still beat JC head to head
