Qawi is the only fighter of note that Hollyfield beat at CW. Whilst Usky cleared out the CW when it was at its strongest and more depth in terms quality beating Gassiev, Briedis, Glowacki, Bellew, Hunter, Huck.
2 years ago, Fury. Fairly even now. If Joshua beats Usyk lt's AJ If Fury beats AJ it changes again. Both are too inactive (like all today's HW) so not doing themselves any favours. Yawn.
I haven't worked on changing a list since these two could conceivably qualify for one. Fury's lack of actual fighting makes him extraordinarily challenging. Joshua on the other hand, even with losing one, I guess I'd have to usher him into the Norton/Patterson area somewhere. Povetkin's still having a Whyte win after facing Joshua is not inconsiderable. His list has gotten pretty deep with good names who aren't great names. Klitschkolean in its okayitude.
I wouldn't put Joshua up with Norton or Patterson, no way. Joshua is a short step above guys like Weaver and maybe Dokes. Fury beat Wilder, his only great win...but let's give credit where it's due: Wilder was undefeated champ for five years. I put him above Norton, Walcott, and Witherspoon 15. Bowe 16. Tunney 17.Charles 18. Patterson 19. Fury 20. Norton 21) Walcott 22) WItherspoon 23) Fitzsimmons 24) Sullivan 25) Jeffries 26) Joshua 27) Wilder 28) Weaver
Your affinity for W's seems borderline fetishistic and I believe it might change the nature of your list into something that is doomed to failure. But only time will tell, when we can work this out into hard science.
I don't even like bodybuilding merchant Joshua but he is vastly superior than Wilder as both resume and technique quality. Wilder even lacks basic boxing skills.
