People were calling for him to give Johnson a rematch and he did. Tarver had a rematch clause in the contract with Dawson, so how would he get out of that? Tarver and Johnson are both better and give more credibility than Fragomeni, Cloud, and Diaconu. Diaconu and Cloud were both completely unproven at the time as well. Chad's overall resume is also better than Adamek's, Haye's, and Erdei's . Who did they beat that were better than the guys Dawson beat?
He didn't have problem with giving up his belt to fight Tarver in the first place ... that is just a money fight nothing more than that.
Oh may ... you probably don't believe yourself in what are you saying here You want to say that Tarver and Johnson would beat not only Fragomeni but also Bell, Mormeck Cunnigham ... and even Valuev? And we are talking about the same Tarver who ducked Paul Briggs 3x to fight Johnson?
Right now, Haye. Heavyweight champion in three bouts does it for me. Cruiserweight achievements are fairly similar.
It's clear you have an agenda against Dawson. Tarver was and is worth more than Diaconu or Cloud. How can you criticize Dawson for taking fights that improve his ranking and build his name at the same time? Beating Diaconu and Cloud would've meant nothing, look at Pascal. Beating Diaconu didn't help his profile. Didn't Cloud turn down the opportunity to fight on the Dawson-Johnson 2 undercard and build the fight with Dawson, but he turned it down? HBO wouldn't accept that fight outright so they offered him a chance to build it up instead. Tarver was better than Diaconu and Cloud and had a much bigger name. How is any of this Dawson's fault?
H2H - right now slightly Haye. Though we need to see more of both of them at HW and it may change. Resume - slightly Adamek. All in all - tie at the moment.
You know I wasn't saying they would win head to head. Pound for pound of course they were better fighters than the guys you just mentioned. Who in there right mind would put Mormeck, Fragomeni, Cunningham, washed up Bell, and sorry ass Valuev over Johnson, Adamek, and Tarver? We're talking about the same Tarver that fought Jones, Johnson, Woods, Hopkins, Harding, Griffin, and Dawson.
The resume comparison is debatable but I'd say Haye has the better CV. I can understand the vote for Adamek though. If they met in the ring? Haye knocks Adamek out in the mid rounds!
