And fight a fighter who is going to cause him problems? I'd of loved to have seen him face Sergio or for the Williams fight to have happened. Why is it so hard for him to take on a dangerous challenger?
He's busy making them millions breh. To be honest he's not a 154lbs fighter, and I think quite truthfully, he should fight at 147lbs without criticism.
People told me he only fights smaller and older fighters out of their prime and that he sucks vs southpaws. And then he fights Ortiz :?
He fought twice there, against people who were not natural LMW's, and against people he made big time money against.
A serious challenge means a risk of losing that 0, which takes away one of his biggest marketing assets in his mind. (I actually don't think it does, as I think a rematch against anyone who beats him is his biggest selling fight ever)
Only 2 times at 154 and that needs to be all he is not the same at 154.To me he needs to stay at 147 fight the ghost then Pac man or Kahn and ride into the sunset.
He's already told you that legacy don't pay the bills, so why bother with this? Floyd's biggest challenge will be not ending up broke 15 years from now. Well, he'd better sell his undefeated status and make money fights off of it while he can. He's getting at least 30 million every fight, fighting people he knows he can beat. That's called living the good life. He's earned it.
I suppose it depends what they mean by a challenge. I would agree that all of those fights you mention are challenges. But there are SOME fighters in the past who would have thought nothing of making a catchweight fight against Martinez because the idea of losing wouldn't have concerned them that much.
It is ironic how dropping that first Castillo decision could have actually enhanced Floyd's legacy. What if he wasn't forever protecting that '0'?
