Took a look at his record. Nothing impressive. Guy is 32, low KO% with only one notable name on his record as far as i can see and thats the mighty Travis Walker. This seems like a nothing fight for Chris but i guess he has to work his way into a contender status again.
I remember Quezada was gaining sum hype not too long ago.. Arreola needs a confidence builder and he's the perfect opponent.. Quezada is nothing special but he's not a bum.
Arreola and Quezada have the same promoter, so it's an easy fight to make. Also, Quezada is ranked by one of the sanctioning bodies, sadly. Can't expect much more than this for an ESPN fight.
Well both are from Cali and both are Chicano heavyweights. Quezada is ok he is no world beater but far from a bum, he was actually starting to make some noise not long ago. This is a perfect opponent for Chris someone he can probably look impressive against and a marketable fight in SO Cal.
I liek this fight Areolla just lost but is taking on a credible guy and staying in the mix he had a great fight vs Adamek but lost and broke his hand a safe fight and a confidence builder and a worthy opponent
You could just as easily ask "Who is Cristobal Arreola and why is Quezada fighting him?" They're on the same level.
No way Arreola would lose to the guy who beat Quezada last. Arreola is still a dangerous heavy IMO and closer to a top 5 heavyweight than top 10. If he ever gets his self in shape hed whup anyone not name Klitchko.
Okay, Arreola has fought two champs that I know of and lost to both of them. One a thirty-eight year old who schooled him in every conceivable way and another who was a light HW and CW champion that was too mobile, quick and crafty. Is he somehow obligated to fight better? Is it even the right move for him to fight better right now? Is Quezada really a bum or just an okay guy who isn't a top ten fighter?
