We thought the cancer of boxing was removed when Floyd retired, but metastasis by the cancerous run-and-hug tumor Haney is back

Huh? Fury isn't boring in or out of the ring. The Wlad fight was boring but he's was in against a fellow giant, an ATG and someone who was the hardest puncher in the sport and is one of the hardest punching KO artists the HW division has ever seen

He literally walked the current biggest puncher in the sport in many people's opinion down in his last two fights and this is despite having previously been dropped by him twice in their first fight and literally having been flatlined for the 2nd KD. He continued to walk him down in the third fight after having been dropped twice too. And he even took the fight to him for the remainder of the round after being flatlined in round 12 of their first fight

He's stopped four of his five last opponents and only three of his fights since Wlad have gone the distance and he was an inactive shell of himself for two of them and nowhere near his best and he suffered a terrible cut early in the other

And he scored stoppages in 8 of his last 10 fights prior to facing Wlad and the two who took him the distance were super durable Chisora who he stopped in their rematch and Kevin Johnson

Maybe you could make the argument Slick Fury was boring and like Haney is much bigger than his opponents, but he's fought some of the most murderous punching KO artists in the history of the sport, fighters with lethal one shot KO power, who can turn your lights off in the blink of an eye and one mistake and it's game over. Haney fought scared against the much smaller Kambosos who isn't a puncher.

But I remember when people tried to equate Loma who is one of the most aggressive fighters in the sport with fighters with safety-first pot-shotting runner styles and the doing the same with the high volume Usyk. Usyk didn't run or potshot against murderous punchers AJ and Briedis. He stood in front of them for the most part.

Imagine weighing two or three divisions more than your opponent and stinking out the joint fighting scared against shot to hell chinny leprechauns who have only stopped 2 of their last 12 like Jojo and Gamboa, and running and holding for dear life for the final 2 rounds against a much naturally smaller shot inactive Linares after getting clipped and being scared to take risks and just resorting to jabbing and holding against the much smaller Kambosos who isn't a puncher

Many more comments and tweets like this from fans who just can't stand the Huggy Bear Haney style

This is what happened the only time Huggy Bear Haney fought a puncher, a way smaller inactive shot one at that

Imagine what a prime active Linares would've done to him or even worse a puncher his own size, bigger or way bigger

    Haney easily.
    Super technical.

At least Fury while not having bomb detonating power can & will get his guy out of there & actually game plans for it.
(An not just the no hoper bum level types either)

Haney is the biggest lightweight I've ever seen, is way naturally bigger and heavier than all these guys he'd fought, and he hasn't ever managed to wobble any of the world champions he's fought in four attempts even though two were shot to bits, were known to be chinny in their prime, have been stopped in all 10 of their combined other losses, and he hit them with the kitchen sink all night

And he couldn't wobble the tiny blown up 126 pounder Jojo or the two divisions lighter Kambosos

    Not even a solitary wobble

Imagine being that much bigger and heavier than your opponents, three of whom were shot chinny fighters/shot chinny leprechauns or tiny leprechauns, and not even be able to wobble a single one of them

Huggy Bear Haney needs to cross over to women's boxing and see if has any luck there trying to secure his first wobble against a world champion

Exactly! Everybody on ESB knows what Haney brings to the table. Why didn't Kambosos? Kam fought to Haney's strengths all night. Did not bring different looks to make Haney uncomfortably at all. Never brought a sustained attack. Never made it rough.

I don't know. A lot of folks thought Haney wouldn't get past Kam. Haney made it look beyond easy. He has a very unpleasant style, but it is very effective. I think Loma, with his output, angles and movement is the only guy I would say beats Haney with out hesitation. Tank, Garcia don't process the ring savy and skill set Loma does, but have the ko power to end it. The road forward for Haney is a tough one.

not anyone. Haney keeps himself out of the range of the other fighter in a much more larger way compared to some other great technicians. He just threw jab and jab (and he master them very well, one of the best jabber in the sport) and stays outside. Rarely takes some risk or try to be superior in terms of volume and workrate. I love pure skilled fighte, but for example Shakur stays much more in a mid-range distance, and that in my opinion makes avoiding punches way more beautiful and difficult. He seems always to be at range for the opponent and then appears ungraspable. Also when it comes to give back to entertaining he shows that he can do damage and back off the opponent. Loma has a great defense and although he is always on the attack, he is being hit clean so rarely. Same for Usyk, who has tremendous workrate and throws almost 900 punches average (at least in CW).

Fury's last fight was extremely boring, but he knocked out Whyte in 6, Haney's went all 12. Before that Fury had the 2 really good wilder fights in a row. But if Fury just boxes and doesn't get a knockout, Haney is more entertaining. Fury vs Wallin and Wlad are nearly unwatchable
