You might not like the math I do because it assumes a person is a person regardless of where they're located. It's not the odd philosophy you seem to prescribe to that states foreign popularity plays no role in history because it has to be in America to count. We used to have a monopoly on heavyweight history. Not anymore. It's unfair to take our ball and go home and claim it's not historically significant because it's Wlad doing it in Germany and not Larry Holmes doing it in Atlantic City.

Wlad doesn't just sell out 50-70k stadiums. Germans knew Pianeta was a bum, so 3 million fewer of them watched Wlad's last defense.

Thing is, that still left over 8 million watching it. That's just in Germany.

Again, that's just Germany. For defending against a guy who wasn't near Guerrero's level.

I think Klitchko (and his brother) are more significant. They introduced the huge heavyweight who uses skill and jab and style to fight their fight. Floyd is very good, but he does not stand out if you compare him to other guys at welterweight with huge names and superfights like Leonard,Hearns,Duran,Benitez,Delahoya,Shane,Tito. The Klitchko resume is not as great as the significance they have in changing boxing. It will be a long time before a champion can defend a title as long as these guys have. And yes their size helps.

Wlads more of a wrestler than a boxer, he only has one decent boxing skill and the rest is grappling. To argue he is more important than a consummate elusive boxer is a joke.

Mayweather is arguably the GOAT at SuperFeatherweight while Wlad is arguably not even a top 10 Heavyweight.

Most boxing fans don't even know who Floyd Mayweather is. Wladimir Klitschko is probably the most recognized person on the planet. You do the math.

HW champs is the baddest man on the planet. Lower weight champs are catchweight kings.

so you see Floyd as more important than any Heavyweight in history?

because Floyd is more elusive and moves faster than any Heavyweight. :think
