Even AJ's family members would say Frank Bruno.

It's not even comparable, Bruno is a national treasure, AJ is at times a national embarrassment.

People underestimate how many youngsters love AJ. I personally would take Frank over 10 AJ’s, but I think it would be closer than people think.

Silly ass question. That's like asking whether Acelino Freitas or Robson Conceição is the most celebrated in Brazil.

Let's see, you have on the one hand a guy as revered as there's been in the country all time, and on the other a guy who, yeah, maybe a household name, Olympian, all that...but loved? Eh...

Bruno is liked for that reason that guys like Bruno are liked in Britain.

He was good, but not quite good enough, and was likeable as a person.

Thats a big difference between Brits and Americans. Americans like winners, Brits like guys who are valiant losers and "good guys"

Ah, well neither am I, but spend enough time on boxing forums and you'll hear Bruno mentioned in venerated tones, maybe not quite up there with a Henry Cooper but definitely a fanatical type of love that I don't think AJ is ever going to engender.

Frank Bruno, without a shadow of a doubt by a country mile.

    He's like a national treasure.

Bruno by a country mile. I've never encountered anyone who hates or even dislikes Bruno. Because there's nothing there to really dislike about him. AJ is very popular but he's a more divisive figure and he's also very fake. You can argue Bruno put on act too but the difference is you never got the impression that the real Bruno behind the mask wasn't anything but a genuinely nice chap. That's not the case with AJ.

Nostalgia is a funny thing people used to hammer Bruno when he was fighting for some of his performances where he straight up looked scared it's once he retired people turned to liking him
