I'm sorry but, is this the excuse thread??? They haven't fought yet and the excuse are ready already,,... Can't we just give credit to the man who will win??? You know, say he's just the better man,,...

Floyd got hit way too often against MM, his reflexes aint what they were. There were points in the first and second fight when MM slipped Floyds shots which would not have happened 5 years ago. At one point Floyd failed to land one shot of a 3 punch combo which was worrying, you could almost see the confusion on Floyds face when he wasnt landing.

    Pac. By far.

People say Floyd, but why? Previous to the two Maidana fights he SCHOOLED Canelo.

What happened was, was that Floyd chose a relentless slow fighter in Maidana.

    Gurerro? Slow, no pressure.

    Canelo? Stage fright.

    Maidana? Slow, yes. Relentless, yes!

Maidana never gave him room to breathe like the other plodders.

I voted for abut the same, agree with those saying Floyd has declined more recently but faster.

Prime Floyd would have handled Maidana more comfortably but at the same time you can't tell me the current Pac looks like the monster from the Hatton/Cotto fights, even if he looked a bit better in his last 2.

I'm already saddened by the thought of all the biased fanboys of the losing fighter using their fighter being "shot" as an excuse, and you know it will happen.

Unfortunately I envisage the loser will immediately retire giving them further ammunition.

Pacquiao has the older ring age, involved in more tough fights, easily has the better opposition, has a style that doesn't suit longevity. Floyd meanwhile has a style that suits longevity, has an inferior set of opposition, takes long vacations to preserve his body and fights only once a year in one certain stretch.

Not an excuse thread. I just wanted to ask a genuine question. And based on the poll results, most people think the slippage of both fighters isn't that far off. So whoever wins, there is really no excuse because both are clearly past their best.

Yeah he did look unbeatable. It was the definition of Mayweather giving a kid a boxing lesson, haha. I thought Mayweather looked prime-like, but maybe it's only because I was video-comparing Canelo vs Maidana. Maybe I should compare like May/Canelo vs May/Marquez to see if I tell a difference there.

I still think the Mayweather of Canelo limits Pac's chances of winning greatly, even if he was visibly past his prime(which I need to go back and see if he was).

I liked the thread. :good It is definitely not an excuse thread. To evaluate current, viable variables that could affect the fight(like age, slippage) are not excuses.

its ridiculous to think that Floyd lost a step because he was hit by a slower Maidana.. but have you seen why Floyd was hit? Its because of awkward angle and punch output of Maidana.. When did the last time Floyd fight someone who punches in bunches?

look at Floyds movement, he was surely still has quick reflexes against Madaina..

Its funny people conclude Floyd is losing a step just because a slower boxer was able to land good shots on him.. how about Broner then did he lost a step as well?

Styles makes fight and Manny's volume punching, iron chin, speed, footwork, and experience will be too much for Floyd!! Remember that..

Pac clearly has the style that ages faster. Back in 2005, people were saying Pac can only have 2-3 years of these wars before he becomes washed up.

    This is basic common sense.
