Mike has a large group of hangers on that he bought cars for and threw parties with loads of drugs. Once he ran out of money they all dissapeared overnight Cars and watches didn't cost milllions back in the 80's they do now. The high end stuff was a lot cheaper then. It's only the last 20 odd years were the crazy stuff has come out I think last year Rolls Royce did a limited edition car that was £20 million which is insane to spend on a car that will instantly lose value but billionaires don't give a ****. Even normal luxury goods like a Rolex was a lot cheaper in the 80's even taking account of inflation.
Floyd will go broke, fact. He talks about his investments, but he only owns a strip club. He bets like a madman, his upkeep for his car collection must be huge, plane costs are astronomical, his days of earning $40-100 million in a night are gone... he will be absolutely broke by the time he's 50.
It's just not sustainable at all. A lot of what he's bought like the watches are just hideous and won't be worth a tenth of what he's paid because it's just stuff covered with diamonds the market for that stuff is very limited. He will be taking that stuff down to cash converters within a few years. He isn't going to earn that dough promoting either unless he gets a large stable of quality fighters and I just don't see that happening.
It's definately insecurity and at this point a habit. It's something that always struck me about his personality that was at odds with being a boxer I think it expalins the second half of his career being a lot more calculated than the first. I mean what do you do when you've got a 100 gold watches or 20 cars?. I think most people would get bored prettty quickly.
That’s something that’s crossed my mind. There’s nothing new under the sun. I’m a siding installer and even I’ve been to some insane parties. Lol.
I don't see floyd going broke, he has a semi small circle. He's going to keep doing boxing matches with MMA fighters for a few mill too.
Floyd was more polarizing which for him generating more revenue. Canelo is also polarizing but he has a huge built in fan base being Mexican.
Floyd's numbers weren't tied to popularity whereas Clenelo's is. Floyd made more and sold more, but Clenelo is more popular.
i'm shocked at the poll results. big fan of floyd but i voted canelo because floyd was a villain. people were lined up around the corner just to see him lose.
Canelo might get there in another few years. Stay on top long enough and the hate snowballs. The hate makes people watch and care.
Ahh the Batman reference is appropriate for this. “You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain”
Canelo by sheer numbers. He has all of Mexico, probably most of central America, and 20% of the US population as a base rooting for him. But he isn't even finished yet. By the time he retires he will eclipse Floyd as the #1 $ earner, which goes a long way to explaining Floyds intense jealousy.
