from the information i have gathered and the fights i have seen, these two are one of the hardest punchers in history.
They are also one of the strongest fighters ever.

who in your opinion was stronger and who in your opinion was more powerful?

i'd just like to say, dont compare tua to tyson, he is more stronger and has a more powerful punch.

Tua probably hit even harder than Foreman with some of those short left hooks.

But strength-wise, Tua wasn't built well to demonstrate his fumctional strength IN A BOXING SENSE. Tua had to get in close to bull away with his immense strength, he's built like a squat powerlifter, and even in close he's susceptible to be leaned on and have his extra strength negated somewhat. But Foreman could push, pull, shove and throw his opponents from all ranges and angles.

Foreman is stronger. Tua has quicker hands and a shorter rotation, and therefore connected cleanly more often.

Let Foreman tee off on you like that, and ready a bodybag. He knocked fighters out with arm punches and clubbing blows that didn't always connect fully.

Foreman would be capable of moving Tua back by shoving him.

Tua hit harder. Foreman was powerful, but there were other fighter who his harder than him punch-for-punch. Shavers definately hit harder than Foreman.

In terms of pure one punch power I might just have Tua shading it.

Not that he is in Foremans class.

I know it probably bothers a lot of the "traditonalists" to even consider that there were many other fighters who hit just as hard as George Foreman punch for punch, but I happen to feel that is the case.

And David Tua was/is definitely a big hitter. It wouldn't surprise me if he in fact was Foreman's equal in terms of punching power.

I think this is a good point. On a bench press, Tua might edge Foreman, but when it comes to the kind of strength that is usefull for boxing, George takes it. I'd say Tua punches harder punch-for-punch with more snap and accuracy , but Foreman probably has better combinations and a better right hand whereas Tua seemed a bit one-handed.
