Roy Jones and it's not even close. If Morales was in any where near the state of decline Jones was in when he fought Calzaghe he wouldn't have won the 1st fight. I seriously can not believe this poll is even remotely close. It's like you guys have missed every fight Jones has participated in since he lost to Tarver.

Jones. At least Morales still throws couple of punches and not just stand on the corner.

man you hit the nail on the head..you just captured the sentiment of alot of Calzaghe fans out here. They think that Prime RJJ was the one who fought Tito. Theres nothing that can be done to change their minds

In a way it does...PAc is fighting DLH and they call it a circus..What about last night?

..You have an old lion being fed to the Hyenas. Theres a question of whos no1.(I know its subjective) but when PAC koed Diaz he got alot of abuse even from PAc fans. Yet Diaz is more of a live, game opponent than the RJJ of last night. In contrary, Joe is being held at the highest esteem for beating a well past it Jones. Double standard?

I seriously can't believe that this poll is even remotely close man. I man, lets look at the records.

11/03 Looks mediocre in a win against Tarver
    05/04 Gets KTFO against Tarver
    09/04 Gets KTFO against Johnson
10/05 Looks flat out BAD against Tarver in a loss
He then reels off two wins against no hopers and looks mediocre in beating an over the hill Trinidad coming back from a 2 year lay off and fighting AT LEAST 15 pounds above his best weight class and more than likely closer to 21 pounds over.

In the same time period Morales beat

    10/03 Guty Espadas Jr TKO
    02/04 Jesus Chaves clear decision
    07/04 Carlos Hernandez
11/04 Gave MAB a good fight in the third of their trilogy
03/05 BEAT Pac in a clear decision.
09/05 looked bad against Raheem but I'd say it was more style and weight than anything
1/06 Lost by TKO to PAC but looked good in the first half the fight.

They aren't even friggen comparable as far as I'm concerned.

well, many posters here discredited pac's win against em (pac/em 2), saying that em was shot, etc. i just want them to know that the fight last saturday doesnt much improve calzaghe's resume. i'm not taking anything away from calzaghe, he's a very good fighter. but his last win doesnt elevate him to #1 pound for pound ranking (i have him at 2). probably next month he'll be no. 1, when dlh whoops pac's ass.

It depends what your definition of "shot" is.

A "shot" Roy Jones would HAVE A CHANCE to beat some of the names in super middleweight/light heavyweight besides calzaghe. I don't think one can say the same about Erik Morales if he were to continue fighting in the lower divisions.
