skilled at what? what exactly do you guys answering usyk see him doing better than canelo? im sure theres some things, but what? give me an example, point to some film, show me a situation... something.
You get no examples, because the people arguing Usyk is more skilled have an irrational bias against Canelo which doesn't allow them to see things clearly as it relates to Canelo. Usyk has decent footwork but nothing special, he's never displayed the kind of footwork that Canelo befuddled GGG with in their first encounter. Has Usyk ever clowned a dangerous puncher while lying on the ropes like Canelo did to GGG in the 4th or 5th round of their first bout? I doubt it, but I'll wait for their "examples" of Usyk showing those kind of skills. I'll also wait to see some examples of Usyk slipping punches in a crouching stance, dipping down with upper body movement, and turning to the side to make opponents look silly and miss wildly. Body punching isn't even a comparison, but of course IB had to do some damage control there to try to marginalize that when of course it's a landslide in terms of body punching. And then you just have flashy punches in general. And when it comes to skills, what's more important that having a dynamic variety of punches? I've yet to see Usyk showcase the kind of well placed uppercuts and hooks that Canelo has displayed throughout the years. The argument that Usyk is more skilled than Canelo is so insanely ridiculous it's pointless even trying to have a debate with people that delusional. I can only recommend that they have their eyes examined so they can get that whole blurry vision Canelo problem fixed so they can start seeing things clearly again.
Canelo is a better counter puncher, and his combination punching is more fluent. Don't think I agree with usyk being a more versatile boxer than Canelo either tbh. Also I've seen Usyk a lil off balance in fights, because his style is a lil akward as well , so that might be debatable.. but if you had a top 5 list of the most skilled boxers in the game today, both these tremendous boxers would make the list for sure.
people forget what the main objective is, all the rest is just how well you carry out the objective. a lot of catch all phrases get thrown around without people understanding what its all about. this is combat, style points do not trump effectiveness.
In and out of range better, he's light on his feet, incredibly nimble and he controls range better, he's better and more elusive on the backfoot and can close distance far easier on the frontfoot. Not to mention he can get in and land at certain Loma like angles, that Canelo would never dream of landing. Also since he usually starts out on the backfoot then starts fighting at range, then eventually starts walking his opponent down, he has to utilize every aspect of it. Canelo is literally a plodder on the frontfoot and not that great on the backfoot, its his full upper body defense that makes him as elusive as he is, not his footwork.
which one of his fights best illustrates what youre talking about? i want to see this superiority that you claim is so obvious.
A landslide? ...and you're counting those cringe-inducing whiffs he threw at distance in pursuit of Lara, or Mayweather? If they stand directly in front of him, sure, he can light someone up downstairs. If they don't...if they utilize any movement...a crack dead-shot body sniper he isn't.
